Robert J. Strassburg, age 87 of North Tonawanda, went to be with his Lord, April 9, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Robert was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of AmVets. He was a life-long member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and had served the church in various positions throughout the years. He had worked as a Civil Engineer for Occidental Petroleum, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening and golfing. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Suhr) Strassburg. Dear father of Robert (Patricia) Strassburg of North Tonawanda, John (Deborah) Strassburg of Noblesville, IN, and Kathleen (James) Delabarto of Hilton, NY. Grandfather of Jeremy, Christopher (Lorna), Cherrie (Scott), John (Nena), Robert (Courtney), Christina (Samuel), Lisa (Fiancée Andrew) and the late Anthony. Great-grandfather of 9 great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Norman (late Kathleen) and the late LaVerne (late Lucille); uncle of many nieces and nephews. She was a former teacher and secretary at St. Mark Lutheran School. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Strassburg who died in 2015. Strassburg, 82, of North Tonawanda, NY., Friday (May 16, 1975) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness Mr. Strassburg was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Layman's League and was an emplove of the North Tonawanda Board of
Education, retiring 20 years ago. Surviving are three sons, Norman K. (Kathleen) Strassburg of Essex Junction, Vt., LaVerne (Lucille) Strassburg and Robert (Margaret) Strassburg, both of North Tonawanda; ten grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren: two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Rosebrock and Mrs. Naomi Starck, both of North Tonawanda. The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St,., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m. Tuesday (Oct. 24, 1972) at

A life long resident of this
city, she was a member of St.
Mark's Lutheran Church, the
Ladies Guild, Altar Guild, and
the Valpariso Guild of the
church.
She is survived by her
husband Jessie F. Strassburg;
three sons, Norman K.
Strassburg of Essex Junction,
Vt., and LaVerne and Robert
Strassburg, both of this city; a
brother, Gustav Werth of this
city; 10 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held

will be held tomorrow afternoon for
Gustave F. Werth, Sr., 79, who died
Tuesday at his home, 103 Llnwood
avenue. Services will be held at the
residence at 2 o'clock and at the St.
Mark's Evangelical Lutheran
church. In Washington street, at 2:30
o'clock. The Rev. Paul Fretthold
will conduct the services and Interment
will be in Elmlawn.
Mr. Werth was born In Germany.
For the last 53 years he had resided
in North Tonawanda. He was a
member of the St. Mark's church for
many years.
He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmlna;
three sons, J. Theodore,
superintendent of public works in
North Tonawanda, Edward A. and
Gustav F. Jr.; two daughters, Mrs.
William Stoeckel and Mrs. Jesse
Strassberg, and nine grandchildren,
all of North Tonawanda

were married a year later, the ceremony
being performed at Bergholtz.
