  1. 1.  BRINKWORTH, Frank G was born about 1866 in New York (son of BRINKWORTH, John and Mary); died on 16 Oct 1940 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY.

    Death claimed two elderly brothers
    within four hours yesterday,
    'one of them dying as he paid his
    last respects to the other.
    Jeremiah F. Brinkworth, 154
    Hodge Avenue, died at home about
    5 p. m. after an illness of several
    weeks. He was 80.
    Younger brother Frank G. Brinkworth,
    74, of 190 West Utica
    Street, a retired carpenter, went
    to Jeremiah's home shortly after
    and, while sitting on a davenport
    talking with friends, collapsed of a
    heart attack and died almost Immediately.
    Former First Warders
    Both brothers, members of an
    old first ward family, were born
    and reared in Perry Street. Their
    father, John, ran a saloon for
    many years at 299 Perry Street, a
    business which Jeremiah inherited
    and operated until his retirement
    ten years ago. He also was active
    in first ward politics and formerly
    belonged to the Catholic Men's
    Benevolent Association and the
    Ancient Order of Hibernians.
    Jeremiah and Frank were educated
    at the Christian Brothers'
    Institut of old St. Joseph's Cathedral.
    After his formal schooling,
    Frank took up carpentry and for
    more than 25 years did work for
    the Barge Canal on construction
    and repair work. Then he operated
    independently for a long period,
    retiring seven years ago.
    (Double Funeral Saturday
    A double funeral will be held at
    9.30 o'clock Saturday at the Hodge
    Avenue residence and a half hour
    later at St. Joseph's new Cathedral.
    Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
    Surviving the pair are two brothers,
    William If. and Thomas J., and
    two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Roche
    and Mrs. Helen Lynch. Frank
    leaves his wife. Delia; a son, Dennis
    J., and four grandchildren.
    Jeremiah is survived by a son,
    Frank J.; three daughters, Mrs.
    Austin McTigue, Mrs. John J.
    Quigley and Mrs. James Brinkworth,
    and four grandchildren.

    Frank married MCNAMARA, Delia about 1905. Delia was born about 1880 in New York; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
