Paul J. Britt, 82, of 55 Lakewood
Village, died suddenly Sunday
morning at his residence.
He was born July 6, 1903 in the
Town of Ridgeway, to the late Bruce
and Kate (Britt) Britt. He had lived
in the Medina area all of his life.
He was the mechanic's foreman
for Anderson Motors in Medina for
many years, leaving in 1946 to run
his own service station on South
Main Street, until he became
Orleans County's first dog warden.
He then became a school bus driver
and mechanic for the Medina School
System retiring around 1965.
His first wife, Mildred Russell,
died in 1953.
His second wife, Grace Schultz,
died in 1976.
He was a member of the Senior
Citizens of Western Orleans Inc., an
honorary member of the VFW of
Medina, a mem^ r of the Odd
Fellows of Medina, and his hobbies
included hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include three
daughters, Mrs. Milton (Kathleen)
Houghtaling of Pheonixville, Pa.,
Mrs. Donald (Virginia) My hill of
Medina, Nola B. Holman of Medina;
seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren,
and several nieces
and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two
sisters and three brothers.
There will be no prior visitation.
Private memorial services will be
held at the convenience of the
family.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, West Shelby.
Memorial gifts may be made to
Lee-Whedon Library or to the
charity of one's choice.
Arrangements were made through
Barnes-Tuttle Inc. Funeral Home,

Medina, Mar. 24-An assessor
for the Town of Shelby for ten
years, Bruce C. Britt. 86. died in
the Lockport City Hospital yesterday.
He was a lifelong resident
of Medina.

Bruce married MASON, Kate Mabelle in Dec 1885 in Albion, Orleans County, NY. Kate was born in Apr 1865 in Perrysville, Madison County, NY; died on 23 Sep 1938 in West Holley, Orleans County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Bruce C. Britt of Medina, a
sister of Mrs. Rose Carpenter of
Holley, passed away Thursday eve
ning, September 22, 1938, aged
seventy-three years. She was ill but
three days.
Born in Perrysville, Madison
County, MRs. Britt, who before her
marriage was Miss Kate Britt, came
to Medina with her husband, fifty-
three years ago. For twenty-four
years she lived in the village of
Ridgeway but since 1909 has made
her home in Medina. In December,
had Mrs. Britt lived, the couple
would have celebrated their 54th
wedding anniversary.
Besides her husband and sister sh e
leaves two daughters, Mrs.. Charles
Martin of Shelby and Mrs. Robert
Cooper of Middleport; three sons,
Paul of Shelby, Claude of Medina
and Edward of Niagara Falls, and
several grandchildren.
Mr. Britt was a member of the
Universalist Church and the Rebekah
Lodge in Medina.
