    Notes:

    Stephen Alongi, 87, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Friday, May 8th at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Anthony and Phyllis (Cavallaro) Alongi.

    Stephen came to Niagara Falls as an infant with his family, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1945. After graduating from high school he worked in his family’s garage, Alongi Motor Company located at 26th Street and Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls until entering the military service in 1950. Stephen served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a Parachute Rigger 3rd Class from September 11, 1950 until his honorable discharge on August 23, 1954. In October 1955 he began working for the Niagara Falls Fire Department and retired as a Captain in 1976 after twenty years of service. Following his retirement from the Fire Department he returned to the family garage until retiring in 1995 to enjoy his family.

    Stephen is survived by his wife Carol V. (Duthe) Rudolph-Alongi, one son Anthony S. (Sarah) Alongi of Seattle, WA and was predeceased by one son Stephen A. Alongi. He is also survived by four step children Crista Baker, Angela (Mark) Mercer both of Niagara Falls, NY, Jannelle (William) Rossey, David (Jennifer) DePonceau and several other step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one brother Vito V. (Adeline) Alongi of Lewiston, NY; two sisters Carmeline (late Tommy) Tedesco of California and Phyllis (late Victor) Conti of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 - 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Flowers are graciously declined. Memorial offerings may be made to Heart and Soul, Inc., 939 Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.

    Carol V. Rudolph-Alongi, 78, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on October 25, 2022 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Angeline V. (Licata) Duthe.
    She married Stephen Alongi on April 2, 2005, and Mr. Alongi predeceased her on May 8, 2015. Carol loved the Lord and had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother, and loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Carol is survived by her children, Crista Baker, Angela (Mark Mercer) Gantt-Mercer, and Anthony (Sarah) Alongi; her grandchildren, Joseph, Elisha, and Daniel Baker, Christopher Rudolph, and Tyler Gantt; her great grandchildren, Jocelyn Rudolph, Jacqueline Reynolds, Quinn Santiago, and Harlow Santiago; her siblings, Dolores Inserra, Robert Duthe, and William (Cindy) Duthe, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband of 10 years, she was predeceased by her stepson, Stephen Anthony Alongi.
    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:15 followed by Carol’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, 1993 Brant Road, North Collins, NY 14111.  Interment in North Collins Cemetery, North Collins, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Heart, Love and Soul, https://heartloveandsoul.org/.     Mr. Alongi was born in
    Argrigento, Sicily, and came to
    this city 58 years ago. He was
    the owner and operator of the
    Alongi Motor-Co. at 2613. Pine
    Ave. for 39 years, retiring in
    1962.
    He is survived by his wife,

    Funeral services will be held
    at the M. J. Colucci Funeral
    Chapel Monday at 8:45 a.m.
    and at Our Lady of Mount
    Carmel Church at 9:30 a.m.
    Burial will be in Riverdale
    Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home from 2 p.m. to 5
    p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Saturday and Sunday. Prayers
    will be said Sunday at 8 p.m. at
    the funeral home.
