    Thomas J. Broda, 68 of Niagara Falls, NY, formerly of Lewiston, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, he is the son of Lillian (Herowski) Broda of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Walter Broda. Tom was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He graduated from LaSalle High School and received his Bachelor of Art degree in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo. Tom later attended Niagara University for post-graduate studies. On November 20, 1971 he married Jean A. (Calvello) Broda at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Broda predeceased him on October 23, 2004. Tom began his career with Helmel Engineering in Rochester, NY. His roles included sales as well as software and hardware development of coordinate measuring machines (CMM’s). During that time he was also working in his family’s business, Broda Machine Company in the Town of Niagara, and would later go on to become the companies president following is fathers passing. Tom was known as a local manufacturing legend, and was responsible for rejuvenating the company’s business model to adapt to modern machining techniques. He was also the vice-president and co-founder, along with his longtime friend Kevin Schul of Touchstone Calibration. Tom was a member and former president of the Machinist Shop Association of WNY as well as a member of the Buffalo-Niagara Machinist Association. Tom was a passionate golfer and member of the Niagara Falls Country Club. He was also the inventor of the USGA Niagara Barrel Daredevil Putter. Tom had a love for high performance cars, especially his Chevrolet Corvette, and helping out at his daughter and son-in-laws business, The Village Bake Shoppe in Lewiston. Above all, Tom will be remembered for his love and devotion to his beloved wife Jean and his children. In addition to his mother, Thomas is survived by his two children, Matthew T. (Ashley) Broda of Wheatfield, NY and Lindsay (Michael) Fiore of Lewiston, NY, his two brothers, Mark (Susan) Broda of Fairport, NY and David (Martha Blake) Broda of Jamesville, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, as well as his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Jean A.     PRINCE OF PEACE CHURCH was the setting
    Saturday (Nov. 20,1971) for the noon double ring
    ceremony uniting Miss Jean Ann Calveilo and
    Thomas J. Broda In marriage. The Rev. Dennis
    A. McAndrew officiated.
    -The bride Is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs.
    Clifford K. Calveilo, 5634 Lindbergh Ave., and
    the bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
    Broda, 1470 Tuscarora Road.
    Given in marriage by her father the bride
    chose a gown of English imported silk embroidered
    organza in gardenia white. The gown
    was styled with a scooped neckline and short
    puffed sleeves edged in venise lace. The lace
    daisy motifs were centered with purple crystals.
    The empire bodice was edged in purple crepe
    with streamers and the A line skirt fell into a
    chapel length train. Her veil was cathedral
    length and was secured by a lace face framer
    trimmed with crystals and pearls. Loops of
    purple crepe were Interwoven and she carried a
    cascade of purple orchids and pearl centered
    stefanotis with Ivy.,
    MRS. GENE STRASSBURG was matron of
    honor. She wore a purple crepe pant dress styled
    with a high neckline, long puffed sleeves and
    white fur trimming at the collar and cuffs. Her
    matching camelot headpiece secured a face veil
    .and she carried white fur muff with a cascade
    bouquet of .white and purple pompons, gold
    baby's breath and ivy.
    Mrs. Clifford Calveilo Jr., Miss Christine
    Calveilo, sister of the bride, bridesmaids, were
    similarly gowned.
    LAWRENCE TRAVIS was best man and the
    ushers were Donald Getty and Lester Arthur.
    Mark and Anthony Calveilo, brothers of the
    bride, were altar boys.
    An afternoon reception was held at the
    Pauper's 3 Restaurant.-
    Following a wedding-trip to Ocho Rios,
    Jamaica, the couple will reside in this city.

    Lillian (Herowski) Broda, age 99 passed away on June 30, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine (Pokusa) Herowski.
    Lillian was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area.  She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  On February 22, 1941, she married Walter Broda in Niagara Falls.  Mr. Broda predeceased her in June of 1985. Lillian worked at Jenss Department Store and later in the office of Neisner’s.  She also worked alongside her husband Walter in their family owned businesses, Broda Machine Company and the former Plantation Restaurant in Niagara Falls.
    Mrs. Broda is survived by her two children, Mark (Susan) Broda of Fairport, NY and David (Martha Blake) Broda of Jamesville, NY, and was predeceased by her son, Thomas (late Jean) Broda and daughter Barbara Broda and two brothers, Stanley (Marilyn of Lewiston) Herowski and Richard (late Katie) Herowski.  She is survived by five grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Broda, Lindsay (Michael) Fiore, Elizabeth (Ellis) Hoffman, Michael (Suzanne) Broda and Roxanne Broda-Blake, five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Peter and William Hoffman, Claire and Aubrey Broda as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Mrs. Broda’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence, 3rd Floor West for the compassionate care she received.
    There will be no prior visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 3rd at 12 Noon at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY.  Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Parish, Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements by M.J.
