Robert R. Shapiro

July 8, 1932 - August 20, 2015

Robert R. Shapiro, formerly of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2015. He was 83. He was born in Niagara Falls on July 8, 1932, a son of the late Benjamin and Anna May (Stanley) Shapiro. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School and then served in the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge he worked as a welder at General Motors.
Mr. Shapiro is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Thelma J. (Wilson) Shapiro, 5 children: Lori Shapiro, Robert R. (Judy) Shapiro, Jr., Theresa McDaniel, Tammy (Leonard) Steves and Dawn (Scott) Russell. He is also survived by 5 siblings: Shirley (late Ken) Martin, Dan (Diane) Shapiro, Gary (Barbara) Shapiro, Terri (Ang) Argenteri and David (Maryann) Shapiro, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Sunday from 4-7 P.M. where funeral services will be held at 7. Burial will be private in Riverdale Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Mr. Shapiro’s name to the Veterans Administration, 3495 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, NY 14215.
