    William B. Eaton, 89, retired
    building contractor, of 1885 Hosmer
    Road, Appleton, died Tuesday
    at his home.
    He was born in the Town
    of Somerset on Sept. 9, 1880,
    the son of Bennett and Theresa
    (Tenney) Eaton.
    He was the founder and a
    former president of the William
    B. Eaton Construction Co., Lockport.
    He first embarked on his
    building career in 1905, and established
    his construction firm
    in Lockport in 1922, in association
    with his brother, Hubert
    L. Eaton, and his son, Jesse
    B. Eaton.
    He was a member of Somerset
    Lodge 639, F&AM, and
    the Lockport Rotary Club. He
    was also a member of West
    Somerset Baptist Church, serving
    as one of its trustees for
    40 years.
    His wife, Mrs. Lena Eaton,
    died six years ago. They had
    celebrated their 50th wedding
    anniversary Sept., 1952.
    Mr. Eaton is survived by two
    daughters, Mrs. Mabel Wilson
    of Newfane, and Mrs. Flora
    Truesdell of Barker; five sons,
    Jesse of Newfane, Harold of
    Lockport, Ralph of Newfane,
    and Donald and Arthur of Apple-
    ton; 21 grandchildren,
    great-grandchildren
    Friends may call
    Funeral Home, Barker
    to 9 p.m. today, and from 2
    to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
    Services will be held from
    West Somerset Baptist Church,
    at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev.
    Donald Wilson officiating.
    Contributions may be made
    to the West Somerset Baptist
    Church building fund.

    Appleton couple's trip to Florida was cut short
    by tragedy Tuesday afternoon when a head-on collision
    in Virginia Instantly killed Mrs. Lena B. Eaton, 77, and
    injured her husband, former owner of a Lockport con-
    struction firm; their niece; and a Genev couple riding
    in the other car.
    The injured, all admitted to the
    University of Virginia Hospital at
    Charlottesville, Va., and their injuries
    and conditions are:
    William B. Eaton, 75, of the
    Hosmer Road, fractured leg, fractured
    nose and facial lacerations,
    in satisfactory condition.
    Mrs. Marion Hetherly. 61, of
    Buffalo, niece of the Eatons, multiple
    abrasions, condition satisfactory.
    Melvln E. Price, 37, Geneva,
    fractured right leg, condition satisfactory.
    Mrs. Ellen Price, 36. fractured
    right hip, condition fair.
    The fatal accident occurred on
    U. S. Route 15, ten miles south of
    Culpeper, a county-seat town in
    northern Virginia. According to
    reports from Virginia state police,
    who were still investigating the
    mishap today, the Eaton car waa
    traveling south on the four-lane
    macadam highway. The Genevans'
    car, driven by Mr. Price
    and traveling north, swerved into
    the path of the Eaton's machine.
    DRIVER LOST CONTROL
    Mr. Price told troopers that he
    lost control of his vehicle. He
    said he was not trying to pass a
    truck in front of his car. The
    road was dry at the time of the
    accident.
    Two sons of the Appleton couple,
    Harold H. of Lockport and
    Jesse B. of Newfane, are in Charlottesville
    today, having left Toesday
    evening when they heard of
    the accident.
    It is believed that the Prices
    were returning north after a vacation
    in Florida.
    Mr. and Mrs. Eaton had customarily
    visited Florida during the
    winter since Mr. Eaton retired
    about five years ago from active
    affiliation with the W. B. Eaton
    Construction Co
    FORMER TEACHER
    Mrs. Eaton, a native of Niagara
    County, was a school teacher
    before her marriage. The former
    Lena Brownell, she and Mr. Eat*
    on were married Sept 3, 1902.
    She was a member of the West
    Somerset Baptist Church and of
    the Logos League Sunday School
    Class.
    Besides Harold and Jesse, she
    is survived by three others sons,
    W. Ralph of Newfane; Donald B.
    and Arthur T., both of Appleton;
    two daughters, Mrs. Donald Truesdell,
    Appleton, and Mrs. William
    Wilson, Newfane; several brothers
    and sisters; and 21 grandchil-
    dren.
    Funeral arrangements were in-
    complete today.

    M. Brownell died Saturday at the home

    West Somerset. She is survived by five

    be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock
