    Former Pastor, Rev. Schleef Dies At Shelby
    A retired Lutheran Pastor, the Rev. Frederick Schleef, 78, formerly of Wolcottsville. died Friday (Oct. 14, 1960) at his home, Shelby Center. He was born June 12, 1884, in Hanover, Germany, and came to this country at the age of 2 with his parents, settling in Woodworth. Ill. Mr. Schleef attended Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Springfield, Ill., and was graduated June 23, 1909. He was married to Emma Gehrte, July 1, 1909, and was ordained and installed as pastor at Bruederhiem, Alberta, Canada, July 18 the same year. He served as pastor of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. for 38 years. Due to failing health, he retired Jan 13, 1952. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Kelly of Silver Creek; two sons. Theodore and Norman, both of Wolcottsville; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, John Schleef, Mrs. Anna Bohlmann. Mrs. Margaret Bohlmann. and Mrs. Catherine Bormann all of Illinois, and William Schleef of Spokane, Wash; also several neices and nephews. Friends may call today and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 at the Wallace and Heath Funeral Home. Middleport. and Monday from 12 to 2 at St. Michael's Church, Wolcottsville, where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2. The Rev. Herman Meier and the Rev. Hilbert Huth will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Wokottavitle.
