    Obituary of Mildred Maulis Mildred h.. Maulis, age 97 of Ransomville, died Saturday November 7, 2015 at her residence while under the loving care of her family and her three loving and devoted caretakers.Mildred was born February 15, 1918 in the home where she died. She was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Hurtgam) Hillman. She was a 1936 graduate of Niagara Falls High School as well as a graduate of the Kelly Business School in Niagara Falls. Mildred worked as a secretary for E.I. DuPont Co. in Niagara Falls until her marriage to Eman Maulis on June 14, 1941. They had lived in Lewiston for over 30 years before returning to her family residence in Ransomville.A lifelong member, Mildred was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge where she served on the Altar Guild. An avid gardener and floral designer, Mildred was President and an active member of the Ridge View Garden Club in Lewiston. She received numerous awards for her floral designs and horticultural endeavors and was a Horticultural and Floral Judge. Mildred was also a member of the Valparaiso Guild and the Cambria Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, selling produce at the Niagara Falls Farmers' Market, collecting and refinishing antiques, playing bridge, and crocheting.Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Eman, in 1999 and a daughter, Dana L. Roemke in 2008. She is survived by a daughter, Joan L. Maulis of Clifton, VA; her grandchildren, Sarah Valliere, Rachel Nash, Mariah Kirsch, and Peter Tyson; six great grandchildren; and a son In law, Wade Roemke of Callawassie Island, SC.Friends may call at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Lockport on Thursday, November 12, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY.
