James Philip Rowles, age 93, of North Tonawanda, died December 9, 2015. Jim was born May 1, 1922 in Clearfield, PA. He was the son of the late Thelma and Commodore Perry Rowles. Jim came to NY after WWII, he often said NY was easy pickins after life in PA. He lived in Williamsville for many years before moving to North Tonawanda. During most of those yeas he worked for the Herbert F. Darling Co. Beloved husband of Joanne Rowles, father of Tom Rowles and Mark Werth. Brother of Mary Jane Rummings, Commodore Perry Rowles. And the late William and Lewis Rowles. Grandfather of Margaret Jane Rowles, James Philip Rowles, Charles Andrew Rowles, Brandon (Kristie) Werth, and Jilynn Werth. Great-grandfather of Allyson Jade Cornejo and uncle of several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 A.M., the Rev. Karl Haeussler will officiate. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park. Joanne M. Rowles (Werth) age 86, of North Tonawanda, passed away October 9, 2022. Joanne was born March 15, 1936, in Rochester, NY. After high school Joanne started working for the Wurlitzer Company and then the Riverside Chemical Co. Her career ended after 36 years at Marine Midland Bank, at first as a teller and working on the platform. During her free time, she volunteered at the DeGraff Hospital Gift Shop and also for Meals on Wheels. Joanne was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aide. Beloved mother of Mark (Kathy) Werth, grandmother of Brandon A. (Kristie) Werth and Jilynn M. (Edward) Eagen. Great-grandmother of Evelynn G. Eagen. No prior visitation, family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 10:00 AM from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., in North Tonawanda, the Rev. Lucy E. (nee Hildebrandt) Werth, 80. of North Tonawanda, suddenly Thursday (December 21, 1978) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Werth was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Ladies Aid Society. Wife of the late Alfred W. Werth who died Nov. 6, 1978. she is survived by a daughter. Mrs. James (Joanne) Rowles; grandson. Mark Werth both of North Tonawanda and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Homer Inc., 1241 Oliver St.. at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda this evening from 7 to 9 and Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., the Rev. Arnold Kromphardt will officiate. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park.
