    George Schwenk Dies Here at Age of 85

    George Schwenk. 85. of 1413 Eighth street, died in Memorial hospital yesterday afternoon, after fracturing his hip In a fall at his home on Monday.

    A native of .Germany. Mr. Schwenk came to this city about 85 years ago.

    He was formerly employed by the Aluminum Company of America here and was retired 18 years ago after 25 years of service with that firm. He was a prominent member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, Michigan avenue and Tenth street.

    Surviving are two sons, Henry Schwenk and August Schwenk, both of this city, and a sister. Mrs. Catherine Stelnbrenner. White Plains.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm. Friday at the Otto Redanz Funeral home. Michigan avenue and Tenth street, by Dr. Arthur H. Schmoyer, pastor of Zion church. Members of the Twentyfive club of the Aluminum company will act as bearers. Interment will be In the family plot in Oakwood cemetery.

    OLD RESIDENT DIES

    Mrs. George Schwcnk Passes at Home Here Following Short Illness. Mrs. Rose Christiana Schwenk, 64 years old, 1413 A street, died at her home yesterday, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at the home at 2:30 p. m. Friday, the Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery-

    Mrs. Schwenk was a native of Germany. She had lived in Niagara Falls for the past 47 years and had a large number of. friends in the city. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church. She Is survived by her husband, George Schwenk, three sons,' George, Jr., Henry and August, all of this city: four brothers, Carl and Augustus Stelnbrenner, of this city. Henry Stelnbrenner, of White Plains. N. Y., and William Steinbrenner, of Los Angeles, and four sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Kuebler. Mrs. Anna Keller. Mrs. Fredericka Elherta and Miss Louise Steinbrenner of New York City.
