    Douglas M. Taylor, age 83 of the Town of Cambria, NY died Thursday June 9, 2022, in the Harris Hill Nursing Facility, Williamsville, NY. Doug was born August 4, 1938, in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Louis and Dorothy Taylor. He was a 1956 graduate of LaSalle High School. Doug married Mary Louise Gombert on March 28, 1959, and resided in the Town of Cambria since 1960. He served in the US Army Reserves. He served his community as a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Cambria Volunteer Fire Company. He retired from Harrison Radiator where he worked as a millwright and skilled trades group leader. Doug was a long-time member of the Lockport YMCA. He played softball as a hobby and played for many teams for years. He was a devoted loving husband for 56 years to his wife Mary who predeceased him. He enjoyed gardening and reading. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Timothy (Carol) Taylor of Sherburne, NY, Jeffrey (Susan) Taylor of Corfu, NY, Cynthia (Mike) Zanghi of Elma, NY and Melissa Jalovick of Chaffee, NY; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Friends and Family may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. on SUNDAY June 12th from 1-4 PM.     Mary L. Taylor, age 77 of the Town of Cambria, NY, died Sunday December 27, 2015 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness.


    Mary was born January 3, 1938 in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Sheppard) Gombert. She was a 1956 graduate of LaSalle High School and later received her Associate's Degree from Niagara County Community College. Mary married Douglas M. Taylor on March 28, 1959 and they have resided in the Town of Cambria since 1960. She was employed as an EKG Technician by Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center until her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 42 forced her to retire.


    Mary was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


    She is survived by her husband, Douglas; her children, Timothy (Carol) Taylor of Sherburne, NY, Jeffrey (Susan) Taylor of Corfu, NY, Cynthia (Mike) Zanghi of Elma, NY, and Melissa (Doug) Jalovick of Holland, NY; two sisters, Georgina Gregory of Skaneateles, NY and Maureen Gau of Orchard Park, NY; two brothers, Michael (Quinn) Gombert of Scottsdale, AZ and David Gombert of Youngstown, NY; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.


    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday, December 30, from 1 - 5 pm. Funeral Services and burial will be private in North Ridge Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.

    Mary Gombert, 1037 Ninety-second street, a resident of this city for the last 11 years, died yesterday at Memorial hospital. She was a native of Burlington, Ont,
    Surviving are her husband. George H. Gombert; two daughters, Mary Louise and Georgina Helen Gombert. all of this city; her father. Howard C. Sheppard, Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Harold Richardson, Mrs. R. Ross Craig, Miss Shirley Ann Sheppard. all of Burlington, and Mrs. Robert Cross, Hamilton Beach, Ont., and three brothers, Dr. J. P. B. Sheppard..Maple, Ont., and Howard W. and Donald Sheppard, both of Freeman, Ont. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Gombert, 8810 Pershing avenue, and at 3 pm. at the Zlon Evangelical Lutheran church where the Rev. Lawrence E. Herfurth will conduct services. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
