    Arlene Morreale, 57, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Sophie (Augustine) Placek.

    Arlene was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and also earned an Associate’s Degree from Niagara County Community College. On March 3, 2004, she married her dear husband Peter Morreale in Las Vegas, NV.

    Arlene began working at N.F. Memorial Medical Center as a Phlebotomists and was also employed as a Surgical Technician at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY for the past 10 years. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed attending concerts. Arlene also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

    In addition to her husband, Mrs. Morreale is survived by her children, Nikki (Thomas) Kresman of Niagara Falls, NY, Tara Morreale of Lima, NY, Steven (Samantha) Morreale of Lewiston, NY, Lindsay Morreale of Niagara Falls, NY, and three grandchildren Alexis Kresman, Leah Kresman and Thomas Kresman II. She is also survived by her brother Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Gromney and one nephew Matthew Gromney both of Las Vegas, NV; as well as several cousins and one aunt.

    Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28th from 3 - 7 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday, January 29th at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.

    Survivors are his wife,
    Mrs. Sophie Augustyn Placek;
    a daughter, Arlene Placek,
    both, at home; two brothers,
    Henry and Peter Placek, and
    a sister, Mrs. Cecelia Goddsz,
    all of this city; four nieces
    and two nephews..
    Funeral services be
    held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday
    at the Tubinis Funeral Home
    and at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's
    C h u r c h , Lewiston. Burial
    will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
    The rosary will be recited
    at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at
    the funeral home.

    Heights, a retired employe
    of the City of Niagara
    Falls, died today (Sept. 26,
    1963) at the Ransomville General
    Hospital.
    A native of Poland, Mr.
    Augustyn came to Niagara
    Falls'in 1913. He was employed
    by the International Paper
    Co. here until 1925 when he
    opened a restaurant at 324
    14th St. He operated the restaurant
    until 1931 and later:
    went to work for the city.
    Mr. Augustyn was a member
    of the Pulaski Civic League
    here.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
    Mary Augustyn; a daughter,
    Mrs. Sophie Placek, of Lewiston
    Heights; a son, Joseph
    Augustyn, this city, and two
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at
    the Tubinis Funeral Home
    and at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity
    Church. Burial will be in
    Holy Trinity Cemetery.
    The Rosary will be recited
    at the funeral home at 8 p.m.
    Friday.
