    Roger B. Heimgartner, age 76, of the Town of Wheatfield, January 26, 2016 in Elderwood at Wheatfield. Mr. Heimgartner worked as an art teacher at the Edward Town Middle School for 35 years. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and received a Master's Degree from U.B. Mr. Heimgartner took pride in designing and building his own house, he enjoyed landscaping and building model airplanes. He had coached both softball and baseball and was very involved in his children's activities. Beloved husband of Carole (nee Sisson) Heimgartner for over 49 years. Dear father of Robin Heimgartner, John (Janelle) Heimgartner and Karen (Christian) Bock. Grandfather of John and Ronald Guiher and great-grandfather of John W. Guiher. Brother of Judith (late Richard) Zacher and the late Carol Maudsley. Brother-in-law of Robert Maudsley. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 A.M., interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. If so desired memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

    Herman B. Sommer, Daily Press Editor, Succumbs at 69
    Herman B. Sommer, 69, editor of the Daily Press, died in his home at 797 Sweeney St. last night. A native of North Tonawanda and a graduate of North Tonawanda High School, Mr. Sommer in 1933 founded a weekly paper called the Niagara Frontier Press. It became a daily in 1940 under the name, Niagara Press, and later it was renamed Daily Press. Mr. Sommer was a former local correspondent for the old Buffalo Express. He worked for a time as an agent for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in the Tonawandas and in New Jersey. He was a member of Salem Evangelical & Reformed Church, the North Tonawanda Firemen's Benevolent Association and the Columbia Hook and Ladder Company. He once held the positions of city clerk and superintendent of public works in North Tonawanda. He was an active Republican. The late Addison Sommer was his son. Mr. Sommer is survived by his wife, Lucy A.; a son, Sterling; three daughters, Mrs. John Heimgartner and Mrs. Clarence Hurtubise and Mrs. Lucille Williams of Buffalo; a sister, Mrs. William Glenn of Central Square, N.Y.; a brother, Alfred Sommer of Pittsburgh, and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the residence. Rev. Walter Hetzel of Salem Church will officiate. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park.

    BAKER - Harvey P. Baker, 70,
    of 21 Ward Rd.. Town of Wheatfield,
    died Satruday evening (June
    21, 1958) at his residence after a
    lingering illness. He was a mem-
    ber of First Presbyterian Church,
    Tonawanda, and had been em-
    ployed by Columbus McKinnon
    Chain Corp. for 25 years until his
    retirement. Surviving are his wife,
    Harriet (nee Rich), three daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Ernest Vigrass, Mrs.
    Glen Sisson and Mrs. Fred Kol-
    pack and one son, Harvey L. all
    of the Tonawandas; eight grand-
    children; two sisters, Miss Lydia
    Baker and Mrs. Henry Reinbolt
    both of Tonawanda, and two
    brothers, Elmer Baker of Batavia,
    N. Y., and Robert Baker of Free-
    port, L.I. Friends may call at the
    Creasey Funeral Home, 93 Adam
    St., Tonawanda, where services
    will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
    The Rev. Donald V. Roberts will
    officiate. Burial in White Chapel
    Memorial Park.
