    Carol (nee Bugenhagen) Barber, age 75, of Amherst, formerly of North Tonawanda, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her residence after a long illness. Born in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Agnes (nee Hassan) Bugenhagen. Mrs. Barber had been a member of the Buffalo Clown Alley as "Mrs. Busy B".

    She is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Barber; three daughters, Connie (Gerald) Michlin of North Tonawanda, Susan (John) Tanner of Amherst and Theresa (Shawn) Kilroy of Amherst; a brother, Ken (Judy) Bugenhagen of Sanborn; and 14 grandchildren, Andrew, Katie, Emily, Joseph, Anna, Faith, Colleen, Sarah, Matthew, Kristin, Daniel, Mary, and Samantha. Also surviving are 3 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Christian and Jotham, and nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call from 5-7 PM on Friday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 7 PM Friday; the Rev. Msgr. Paul J. Belzer officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.

    Given in marriage by her
    brother, Kenneth Bugenhagen,
    the bride chose a fulllength
    gown of silk organza
    and Chantilly lace fashioned
    with a portrait neckline,
    and long p r i n c e ss
    sleeves. Tiers of 1 a c e
    formed the front panel of
    the bouffant skirt which terminated
    in a chapel train.
    A crown of seed pearls
    held her veil of silk illusion
    and she carried a bridal
    bouquet of white carnations.
    Mrs. Norman Ambrisco of
    Bergholtz, sister of t he
    bride and Gary Barber of
    Buffalo served as attendants.
    Following a reception at
    the Shawnee Fire Hall from
    5 p.m. until 12 Midnight,
    the couple will leave for a
    tour of the Southern states.
    They will make their home
    at 108 Thompson St., Tonawanda.

    Griffin St., Sanborn, died this morning
    at Memorial Medical Center, Niagara
    Falls, where she had been a patient for
    the past month.
    At one time, Mrs. Barber served as a
    Sanborn Public Library trustee and
    was active in the Niagara County
    Home and Farm Bureaus.
    Mrs. Barber and her husband, Alfred
    D. Barber, celebrated their 66th
    wedding anniversary last June 20.
    Besides her husband, Mrs. Barber is
    survived by three sons, Stanley L.
    Barber of Sanborn, Milo D. Barber of
    the Town of Wheat field and DeForest
    Barber of North Tonawanda; a daughter,
    Mrs. John Briggs of Geneva, N.Y.;
    10 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday
    at the Pike & Jones Funeral Home,
    5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Burial will
    be in North Ridge Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 23, 1890, in Clarence Center, N.Y., the daughter of the late Fred and Minnie Ziemendorf Herbst, and lived in this area for 41 years. She is survived by her husband, Fred J. Bugenhagen; a daughter, Mrs. Everett Masters, Shawnee; two sons, Marvin, Shawnee, and Carlton, Lockport; a sister, Mrs. Sophia Wendler, Darien Center; a brother, Albert Herbst, Lockport, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Pike & Jones funeral home, Hoover Rd., Sanborn, 2 p. m. Monday. Rev. Kenneth H. Kolbe officiating. Burial will be in Clarence Center Cemetery.
