    Obituary of Eugene Jakubowski

    Eugene Jakubowski, age 90 of Lewiston, died Tuesday March 8, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness.


    Gene was born July 20, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Victor and Valeria (Dobraz) Jakubowski and he attended Trott Vocational High School. In 1947 he married Olga (Poltorak) Jakubowski and they moved to Lewiston in 1952. Gene was a Mechanical Supervisor, employed by the NY Power Authority for 25 years, retiring in 1986.


    He and Olga are communicants of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston. Gene was an accomplished carpenter and wood worker. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.


    In addition to his wife, Olga, he is survived by his children, Cheryl (Gene) O'Neall of Los Angeles, CA, Patricia (Jeffrey) Budde of Youngstown, Deborah (Dr. Peter) Kanter of Plymouth, MA, Loretta (Stepon) Jamgochian of Largo, FL, and Joseph (Kathi) Jakubowski of Youngstown; his grandchildren, Edward (Bonnie) Lynch, Jessica (Matthew) Parker, Christopher (Jessica) Budde , Elisabeth and Hannah Kanter; his great grandchildren, Thomas and Tyler Parker, Edward, Melanie, and Ashlynn Lynch, and Emily Whitaker; and a sister in law, Genevieve Jakubowski of San Marino, CA. He was predeceased by a sister, Connie Skurski and a brother, Edwin Jakubowski.




    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, at 11:30 AM in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St. Lewiston. (Please assemble at Church) Burial will follow in Holy Trinity RC Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorials may be made to the Upper Mountain Volunteer Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, 839 Moyer Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092.

    Olga Jakubowski, age 93, of Lewiston wife of the late Eugene Jakubowski entered in rest on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Olga was born on May 31, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, she is the daughter of the late Michael and the late Mary (Drypaska) Poltorak. She married Eugene Jakubowski in 1947, he predeceased on March 8, 2016. Olga began her working career at Moore Business Forms then went on to work at Schraff’s Hotel then lastly the Parkway Inn Niagara Falls NY as Waitress and doing catering, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family and was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Lewiston.Olga is survived by her children; Cheryl (Gene) O'Neall, Patricia (Jeffrey) Budde , Deborah (Dr. Peter) Kanter, Loretta ( The Late Stepon) Jamgochian, and Joseph (Kathi) Jakubowski; her grandchildren, Jessica Parker, Edward (Bonnie) Lynch, Christopher (Jessica) Budde, Elisabeth And Hannah Kanter; her great grandchildren, Thomas and Tyler Parker, Edward, Melanie and Ashlynn Lynch also Emily Whitaker and Jack Budde. Olga is predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister.Per Olga’s request services will be private with her family. Burial will be in Holy Trinity RC Cemetery in Lewiston, NY.
