    Nerea James Sharpsteen, age 80, of Middleport entered into rest on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Born on June 13, 1935 in Lockoprt, Nerea is the son of the late William and Leona (Schad) Sharpsteen.
    Surviving are his children, Nerea (Joanne) Sharpsteen, Laura (Michael) Schul, Brandon (Dawn) Sharpsteen and Brenee (fiance', David McKinney) Klotzbach. He is the beloved grandpa to 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    There will be no prior visitation. Services will be held privately by the family.

    GILBERTS CORNERS, Nov. 23 -
    The funeral of Fred Bruning who
    died Nov. 18th, after one week's illness
    With Influenza and pneumonia
    waa held Thursday from the home of
    his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Burning,
    Rev, J. Bartell of Wolcottsville
    officiated. He leaves to mourn his
    loss one son, David Brunlng. his parents,
    a twin brother, George, one
    sister, Mrs. Fred Mann. The floral
    tributes were many and beautiful.
    The bearers were six friends, George
    Stahl, Edward Latch, Harold Ladd,
    Leo Grassman and George Smith and
    Oliver Williams. The burial was at
    Wolcottsville cemetery.

    MIDDLEPORT -- Leota E.
    Jackson, formerly of Middleport,
    died yesterday at
    Medina Memorial Hospital
    following a short illness.
    Born March 17,1893, she was
    the daughter of the late Mary
    (Eick) and August
    Graasman. She had lived in the
    Middleport area all of her life
    and had been married to the
    late Willis Jackson.
    Surviving are one son, John
    J. Jackson of Lockport; one
    brother, Leo Graasman, one
    sister, Miss Carrie Graasman,
    both of Lockport; three
    grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren;
    two greatgreat-
    grandchildren; several
    nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call today (2-4,
    7-9) at the Bates, Wallace and
    Heath Funeral Home Inc., 38
    State St., where funeral services
    will be held Friday at 11
    a.m. The Rev. Michael Blackwell
    will be officiating and
    burial will be in Royalton
    Mountain Ridge Cemetery.

    Carl Moriko, 85, of 421 O h i o
    St., a retired steel worker, died
    this morning (March 6, 1968) at
    Mount View Hospital after
    short illness.
    Born Nov. 9, 1882 in Poland,
    he came to the United States in
    1907 and had lived in Lockport
    for the past 55 years.
    Mr. Moriko was employed for
    'years at the Simonds Saw &
    Steel Co., now the Simonds Steel
    Division, of Wallace - Murray
    Corp., retiring about 20 years
    ago.
    Surviving are his widow, Josephine
    Moriko; three daughters,
    Mrs. David Bruning of Middleport,
    Mrs. George Dear and
    Mrs. Josephine Smitherman,
    both of Lockport; also s i x
    grandchildren and 11 g r eatgrandchildren.
    Friends may call from 2 to 4
    and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gaul Funeral
    Home, 263 East Ave.,
    where funeral services will be
    held at 8:30 a.m. Friday and at
    9 from St. Anthony's Church.
    Burial will be in St. Mary's
    Cemetery.
