    Leo I. Werth, of the Town of Cambria, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was born in Lockport, NY, on May 26, 1928, the son of the late Philip and Edna [Mudd] Werth.

    Mr. Werth grew up on his family farm, which he took over and ran. He was also a truck driver for R.L. Gaude in Lockport, for many years, before retiring and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Mr. Werth's passion was his horses, raising, showing and riding them was one of his favorite pass times. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to auctions and being in the out of doors.

    Mr. Werth is survived by his wife of 65 years Betty J. [Kidder] Werth, one son Douglas (Linda) Werth of Gasport, one daughter Darlene (Gary Wilkins) Werth of the Town of Cambria, a granddaughter LaceyJo (Kyle) Craig, a great granddaughter RylynnJo Craig, sister Beatrice (Donald) Daigler, a sister in law Kitty Werth, also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of late Claude Werth.

    His family will be present on Saturday from 10-12:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Charles Jennings officiating.

    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.

    Interment in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.

    flowers decorated the altar at the
    Sanborn Methodist church for the
    marriage of Miss Betty Jean Kidder,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
    Kidder, Pine street, to Mr. Leo Ir-
    vin Werth, son of Mr. and Mrs.
    Phililp Werth, Lockport road. The
    Rev. Peter Van Darren officiated at
    the double ring ceremony.
    Miss Betty Keizer, sang, "I Love
    You Truly," "The Lord's Prayer,"
    and "Always," with Mrs. Don Trues-
    day accompanist.
    Given in marriage by her father,
    the bride wore a gown of candle-
    light satin fashioned in a sweetheart
    neckline, which had scrolls of seed
    pearls. She carried a bouquet of
    white chrysanthemums.
    Attending the bride were Mrs. Don
    Deagler, sister of the bridegroom, as
    matron of honor, who wore orchid
    beached satin. The bridesmaids,
    Miss Gladys Warrent and Mrs. William
    Werkly, wore beaded aqua
    satin.
    Don Deagler was best man, Claud
    Werth, brother of the bridegroom,
    and Mr. William Werkly, were ush-
    ers.
    The immediate families and at-
    tendants had dinner at the Bergholtz
    firehall. At 8 o'clock a reception
    was held for more than 150 guests
    with a four-piece orchestra for danc-
    ing.
    Mr. and Mrs. Werth have returned
    from their honeymoon trip to Mary-
    land and Pennsylvania and are resid-
    ing in Lockport road.

    Edna C. Werth, 91, who had helped to operate the family farm, died Saturday (July 5, 1997) in Dignified Care, North Tonawanda.
    The former Edna Mudd was born in Lockport.
    She and her husband, Philip W., operated the family farm on Lockport Road, where she had lived her entire life.
    Mrs. Werth was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda.
    Her husband died in 1980.
    Survivors include a son, Leo I. of Lockport; a daughter, Beatrice J. Daigler of Lockport; a sister, Reta H. Lambert of Lockport; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday in the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, North Ridge

    farm all her life and her
    husband has lived there for 54
    years.

    PEKIN. Feb. 2 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Werth. who died at the home of her son, Philip Werth. of the Lockport road, on Sunday, were held at the home of her son. Philip, on Tuesday. Mrs. Werth was born August 16, 1859. Besides her husband. William, she is survived by another son and one daughter, Paul Werth and Mr William Schultz, town of Pendleton; two step-sons and one stepdaughter, Benjamin Werth, town of Cambria; Edward Werth, town of Wheatfield, and Mrs. John Schraeder, Upper Mountain road, and also by 10 grandchildren. The Rev. Schmidt, pastor of St Andrews Lutheran church, had charge of the services at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the church at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Schmidt and Miss Margaret Schraeder sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" at the house and 'For Me to Live Is Jesus" at the church. The pallbearers were Glen Hall, Edward Moje, George Wittkop, Lawrence Klinamitch. William Krull and Adolph Schraeder. Burial was in St. Johnsburg cemetery.

    Friends Attend Funeral of Mrs. Jennie Mudd, a Former Resident
    The funeral of Mrs. Jennie Mudd was held from her late home at 415 East Union street, Lockport, at 2:30 o'clock on Thursday afternoon. Burial was in the North Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Mudd was a former resident in this locality, having spent her girlhood days on Chestnut street. She was the former Jennie Smith.
