Funeral Home for William C.
Scharlau, 61. of 476 Esther St.,
who died early today in Veterans
Administration Hospital, Buffalo.
The Rev. Herman B. Miller will
officiate. Burial will be in Elm-
lawn Cemetery.
Mr, Scharlau, a fireman since
1920, had been On sick leave since
November. He was one of the
oldest firemen here in length of
service and for the last 20 years
served with the Sweeney Hose Co.
A lifelong resident of the City, he
was a member of Tonawandas Elk
Lodge 860 and the North Tona-
wanda Volunteer Firemen's Be-
nevolent Association.
Survivors include his wife,
Philomena; a daughter, Mary Ann
and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Ensmln-
ger of Sanborn and Mrs. Frank
Weber of Niagara Falls
William married BUDNIK, Phyllis (Philomena) about 1934. Phyllis (daughter of BUDNIK, Joseph and GAJENSKI, Mary) was born on 30 Dec 1910 in New York; died on 7 Sep 1989 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
