    Notes:

    Samuel J. Capolupo, 92, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his son's home in Lewiston, NY. Born in Trafford, PA he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Domenica (Forlano) Capolupo. During World War II Sam served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant with the 291st Combat Engineers from February 6, 1943 until his honorable discharge on October 26, 1945. His unit served in the Battle of the Bulge and was one of the most decorated units in World War II for their heroism and bravery in preventing the advancement of German forces. He also served in Normandy and Northern France and was awarded a Distinguished Unit Badge, a European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was also the recipient of the Conspicuous Service Star and Medal of Merit from New York State for his service in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, Sam worked for the former Star Bottling Co. as a pop and beer delivery person until 1958. He then became a fire fighter with the Niagara Falls Fire Department and retired as a Fire Inspector in 1987 after twenty nine years of service.
    Sam was a lifetime member and served as a past president of the Niagara Falls Moose Lodge. Throughout his entire life, Sam was a dedicated family man.
    Sam was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve C. Capolupo on April 8, 1990. He is survived by one son, Carl J. (Deborah) Capolupo of Lewiston, NY; three grandchildren, Vincent (Tina) Capolupo, Jason (Elizabeth) Capolupo and Danielle (Adam) Wiener; ten great grandchildren; two special nieces Kathy Williams and Carol Butera; his loving companion Margaret Dean and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by seven siblings, Mary (late Jasper) LaScala, Clementina (late Don) Malizia, Evelyn (late Nicholas) Arena, John (late Lena) Capolupo, Edith (late Frank) Perno, Lena (late Mario) Masacco and Yolanda (late Pat) Mastromatteo.
    Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 - 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday, April 7th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. Entombment with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 7018 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Drive, Suite 102, Amherst, NY 14226.
