Notes:

Jean N. Koenig, age 86, of Middleport, entered into rest on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. Born April 14, 1929 in Middleport, Jean is the daughter of the late William and Esther (Maass) Newman.
Jean attended school at Brockport State Teachers College and later received her Masters. Jean was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She married Herbert Koenig in 1959.
Jean worked at Royalton Hartland School District first as an Elementary School teacher and then as the school's Principal from 1959 - 1980. Jean loved to cooking and enjoyed playing cards, Sudoku puzzles, quilting and travel. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she chairman of their scholarship fund and participated in many activities and committees at the church.
She is survived by her husband: Herbert Koenig and sisters: Elva (the late James) Fritton and Marie (the late Dennis) Feldmann. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home 38 State Street, Middleport from 4-8 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road, Middleport at 11:00 am with the Pastor Richard Wolf officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby, NY immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to: Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
