NORTH TONAWANDA-Edward W. Ostwald, 74, of
7057 Ward Road, Town of Wheatfield, died Monday
(April 3, 1967) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a
brief illness.
He was born in the Town of
Wheatfield and lived in this city
until 1913 before moving back
to the Town of Wheatfield. He
was a member of St. John Lutheran
Church, and St. Johnsburg
Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Alsophine Broecken
four sons, Alvin E., and Wilbert.
A., both of the Tonawandas,
Edward A. of the Town
of Tonawanda, and Richard E.,
of Wilson; two sisters, Mrs.
Elsie Urtel, and Mrs. William
Zuch, both of the town of-
Wheatfield. Seven grandchildren
also survive. -
Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the
Fretthold Funeral Home. The
Rev. Clarence W. Rabe will
officiate. Burial will be in St.
John Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral
home.

Town of Wheatfield Resident Succumbs
BERGHOLZ. Oct. 24 - Ernest Ostwald, 80, a life long resident of the Town of Wheatfield died yesterday at his home Luther street. Mr Ostwald was a blacksmith by trade, retiring five years ago. He is survived by his wife, Martha Stange Ostwald; a son. Edward, St. Johnsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Urtel and Mrs. William Zuch, both of Bergholz; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. from the home and at 2:30 at Holy Ghost church.
The Rev. Victor Dahlke will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Ghost cemetery.

Urtel and Mrs. William Zuch both of Bergholtz, NY, Sister of August Stange of North Tonawanda, William Stange of St Johnsburg, and Mrs. Gustav Broeker of North Tonawanda. Also survived by ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the late residence, Thursday afternoon, August 16 at 3 pm, and 3:30 pm from the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Begrholz. The Rev. Victor Dahlke officiating. Interment at the Holy Ghost cemetery.

Albert R. Broecker, 75 years old, a
pioneer resident of the town of Wheatfield,
died at his home at Saint Johns
burg last night. Besides his widow,
four sons and five daughters survive.
The funeral will be held on Thursday
afternoon. Burial will be at Saint
Johnsburg.

Mrs. Bertha Broecker, died yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Ostwald Sr., Ward Rd., St. Johnsburg, after a long illness. Mrs. Broecker has lived in this vicinity since she came to the United States from Germany when she was 12 years old. A Gold Star Mother, Mrs. Broecker's son, Charles, was killed in World War 1. She was a member of St. Johns Church, St. Johnsburg. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Ostwald Sr.; Mrs. Herman Warblow, Mrs. Leonard Maerten and Mrs. Frank Drier; three sons, Benjamin, Edward and Albert, all of the Tonawandas; 35 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mrs. Ostwald's home, Ward Rd., at 2:30 p.m. in St. Johns Church. The Rev. Walter Thiemecke will officiate. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
