    a variety shower Saturday evening
    at the home of the former In Floss
    Ave. in honor of Miss Jean Mae
    Helmke, whose marriage to Paul
    Theodore Buerger will take place
    Saturday evening at the North
    Park Lutheran Church. A buffet
    supper was given in honor of the
    betrothed couple last evening by
    Mrs. John F. Creitnsr at her home
    in Lehn Spring Dr., Wllllamsville.

    ment of her daughter, Jean Mae,
    to Apprentice Seaman Paul T.
    Buerger, USNR, who is attending
    the V-12 premedical unit at the
    University of Rochester. Mr.
    Buerger is the son of Mr. and
    Mrs. Theodore E. Buerger of Hunt-
    ington Ave.

    Cybotium ferns, palms and vases
    of white snapdragons and gladioli
    decorated the altar and chancel at
    North Park Lutheran Church at
    7 o'clock last evening for the mar-
    riage of Miss Jean Mae Helmke.
    daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Helmke
    of Fairfield Ave . to Paul Theodora
    Buerger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theo-
    dore E. Buerger of Huntington
    Ave. The Rev. Paul F. Boester
    officiated.
    The bride, given in marriage by
    her uncle. Walter A. Golnlck. wore
    a gown of heavy ivory satin with
    long, pointed sleeves, fitted bodice,
    and full skirt ending in a long
    train edged in wide scallops. Im-
    ported chantilly lace and French
    illusion, worn by the bridegrooms
    mother at her wedding, formed a
    yoke Inset in the off-the-shoulder
    neckline, and ulso formed the man-
    tilla type headdress, which was
    bordered with orange blossoms to
    which the long illusion veil was at-
    tached. She carried a cascade
    bouquet of white gladioli, stephan-
    otis and ervatania.
    Mrs. Robert S. Amsden was
    matron of honor, gowned in rose
    beige taffeta, and Mrs. Marvin R.
    Hohenstein and Miss Nancy Ellen
    Goldnick were bridesmaids, wear-
    ing nile green taffeta. They car-
    ried arm bouquets of talisman
    roses and yellow sweet peas. Head-
    dresses of harmonizing tulle dec-
    orated their coiffures. Barbara
    Ann Beelke was flower girl, in a
    yellow taffeta frock with matching
    headdress and a Colonial bouquet
    of roses and sweet peas.
    John F. Kreitner was best man
    and the ushers were Leslie J. Rus-
    sell and J. Bradley Aust.
    The mother of the bride chose a
    dusty rose crepe dress, a small
    headdress of pink nylon and a cor-
    sage of blue delphinium completed
    her costume. The brldegroorrts
    mother favored a gown of tur-
    quoise crepe and an arrangement
    of twisted turquoise ribbon and
    lilies in her hair. Her corsage
    matched her headdress.
    A reception was held at the Buf-
    falo Athletic Club following tha
    ceremony.

    BUERGER - Ted E. Buerger
    passed away at Lockport
    Memorial Hospital. Sunday,
    May 23. 1971. Husband of the
    late Caroline (Kreitner); father
    of Dr. Paul T. Buerger of Lock-
    port; brother of Laura Buerger.
    Also survived by seven grand-
    children. The family will
    receive friends at the Sleek &
    Mast Funeral Home Inc., 1009
    Kensington Avenue, Buffalo,
    Monday, from 2-5 and 7-9.
    Funeral services will be held
    at North Park Lutheran Church,
    Starin and Wingate Avenues,
    Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
    Interment will be in Forest
    Lawn Cemetery.

    Mrs. Caroline Buerger, 407 Hunt-
    ington Ave., left an estate estimat-
    ed at more than $20,000 to her son
    and husband when she died Aug. 3
    at the age of 66.
    In her will, admitted to probate
    yesterday by Surrogate Chrity J.
    Buscaglia,, Mrs. Buerger left her
    property at the Huntington Ave.
    address to her husband, Theodore
    E. a Buffalo insurance broker.
    She bequeathed $15,000 to her
    son, Paul Buerger, 140 Parkhurst
    Ave. After other bequests, she left
    the residue in trust two-thirds of
    the income of which goes to the
    son and the remaining one-third to
    the husband.
    Mrs. Buerger named her hus-
    band and a brother, Albert H.
    Krietner, 98 Wingate Ave., as ex-
    ecutors and trustees. The will
    drawn Jan. 16. 1947. was amended
    by a codicil Oct. 9. 1952.

    of Miss Caroline Kreitner, whose mar-
    riage to Theodore E. Buerger will take

    gave a buffet luncheon on Tuesday
    Miss Lillie Ebberts of Anderson place
    entertained on Wednesday afternoon
    at. cards,, and on Thursday evening Mrs.
    Frank La Montagne of Northamp-
    ton street entertained at cards. On
    Friday, Misses Gertrude and Elsie
    Kreitner' gave a theater party and
    dinner and Misses Ella and Francis
    Kinnilus of Main street, entertain on
    Saturday. Miss Laura Buerger of
    Northampton street, will entertain for
    the bride on her return from the wed-
    ding trip.

    Funeral services for Theodore S.
    Buerger, 73 years old retired head
    of the wholesale hosiery and knit
    goods company which bears his
    name and the name of his son, Theo-
    odore E. Buerger, will be held at 2
    p. m tomorrow at his home, 155
    Northampton Street, and a half
    hour later at Emmaus Lutheran
    Church. Mr. Buerger died Tuesday
    at his home after a short illness.
    Mr. Buerger was a former eastern
    representative of the Milwaukee
    Germania, a newspaper. He was
    born in 1863 in Wolcottsville. After
    his family moved to Buffalo, he at-
    tended public schools here and later
    was graduated from Bryant & Strat-
    ton's Business College. After com-
    pleting a business course, Mr. Buer-
    ger obtained a post in a downtown
    dry goods store. In later years, he
    became a partner of John A. Kessel
    and formed the Kessel & Buerger
    Company, retail notions dealers. He
    and his son organized their own
    business in 1915 under the name it
    bears today. Mr. Buerger retired five
    year ago.
    Long a member of the church in
    which his funeral rite will be held
    Mr.. Buerger, for twenty years, had
    served as trustee and treasurer of
    the congregation. Survivors are his
    wife, Mrs. Frances Boettcher Buer-
    ger; a daughter, Laura H. Buerger;
    a son, Theodore E., three brothers,
    Martin, Paul and Otto, and a sister,
    Mrs. Constance Stoecker.
