    Robert E. Wade, Sr., 88, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on February 22, 1928 in Philipsburg, PA, Robert was the son of the late Herschel and Mary (Myers) Wade. On June 6, 1953, he married the former Donna Jeanne Boyd in Niagara Falls, NY. Donna predeceased him on November 9, 2011. Mr. Wade came to Niagara Falls, NY, in 1942. Robert proudly served in the United States Army Air Forces from March 30, 1946, until his honorable discharge on September 13, 1947. He was employed by the former Stauffer Chemical Corporation. Upon their closing, Mr. Wade then worked for Airco Speer and later for BOC Edwards, in their shipping and receiving department, until he retired in 1993. Robert was a communicant of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls, NY. In his younger years, Mr. Wade liked to bowl and shoot pool. Robert also enjoyed word search puzzles. Mr. Wade is survived by two daughters, Joyce E. (Tony) Rotella and Theresa A. (Michael Belcher) Wade; eight grandchildren, Maryjoyce (Tom) DiPaola, Virgil Rotella, Sarah (Ron) Janese, Glen Bowen, Donna Bowen, Jason Wade, Amber Wade and Alexis Wade; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordynn, Aria, Wyatt, A'Niyah, Glen, III, Christian and Jaisen. Robert is also survived by four siblings, Lois (Irv) Brydges, Josephine (late Jack) Lengen, Alice (Fred) Helton and John (Helga) Wade; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sons, Richard 'Rick' Wade and Robert E. 'Rob' (Karen) Wade, Jr.; one sister, Charlotte Wade; and two brothers, Walter (late Mary Louise) Wade and Herschel (late Florence) Wade. The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, November 27th from 2-5 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara, where a funeral service, concluding with military honors, will follow visitation at 5:00 PM, with Niagara Hospice Chaplain, Robert Goodlander officiating. Private interment will be held in Acacia Park Cemetery. Those who wish to honor Robert in the form of a contribution, are asked to consider Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.     Vincanetta 'Vinnie' Mary Dobson, wife of Robert 'Bud' Dobson III, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, April 25, 2016. She was 77. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn (Scalzo) Syracuse. She attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Falls High School, Class of 1956.
    Mrs. Dobson had a wonderful and caring personality, she was known for her many qualities, she could make you laugh and cry at the same time, had a huge heart, always sacrificing to bring joy or need to someone else. She was known as the "mother of the neighborhood." Having a deep affection for children, she loved her part-time job working at various schools as a lunch aid. When she wasn't at the schools, she enjoyed helping her husband with his business, Bob's Cycle, Inc. She enjoyed walking and trips to see friends at the Seneca Casino.
    She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; four devoted children, Lori Dobson Kirsch, Robert W. (Michael Becker) Dobson, Jackie Biniecki and Danny (Heather) Dobson; her dear sisters, Maxine (James) Casey and Geraldine (Robert) Harrigan; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Dullen; grandchildren, Karl (Alicia), James, Joseph, Kristin, Ronald (Tara), Kaylie, Brason and Quinn; great-grandchildren, Felix and Lilliana; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Friends may call or visit on Friday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where Funeral Services will be held Friday at 8 PM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 333 Westmoreland Drive, Rochester, NY 14620.

    Mary's Hospital

    Mr. Scalzo
    was born in
    Italy Jan. 15,
    1884 and
    came to the
    United States
    and to Niagara
    Falls in
    1900. He operated
    neigh-
    borhood theaters
    here for
    40 years and
    operated a shoe repair shop
    in Niagara Street at the
    time of his retirement in
    1949.
    He was a musician and
    one of the founders of the
    Scalzo Band that played in
    Niagara Falls during the
    1920s and 1930s.
    Mr. Scalzo is survived by
    one son, Joseph Scalzo,
    Niagara Falls, and seven
    daughters, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy)
    Guidotti, Mrs. Frank
    (Evelyn) Syracusa, Mrs.
    Frank (Brandy) Bellavia,
    Mrs. Frank (Anetta) Cottet,
    Mrs. Jack (Anne) Waldriff,
    Mrs. Sam (Loretta) Musolino
    and Mrs. Charles (Ruth)
    Terrana, all of Niagara
    Falls.
    Thirty-seven grandchildren
    and 16 great-grandchildren
    also survive. He was
    predeceased by his wife,
    Irene Logan Scalzo, in 1935
    and a son, Louis Scalzo,
    North Tonawanda, in 1963.
    Services will be held at
    the Magaddino Memorial
    Chapel Inc., at 9:45 a.m.
    Tuesday and at St. Joseph's
    Church at 10:15 a.m. Burial
    will be in St. Joseph's
    Cemetery.

    funeral chapel from 2 to 5
    and 7 to 10 p.m. today and
    Monday.
