Obituary of Jean Ann Bazinet
Jean Ann (Canavan) Bazinet passed away on Saturday August 10, 2019 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Troy NY on February 17, 1951, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth Rogers Canavan. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Thomas Canavan. Jean was raised in Tonawanda, where she attended St. Christopher School and graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1969. Jean married the love of her life, the late James Bazinet in October 1970, and moved to Misawa, Japan, which is where Jim was stationed while serving in the US Marine Corp. After returning the US, Jim and Jean lived in North Carolina, but wanting to be closer to family, eventually settled in Lockport, NY. Jean enjoyed doing Zumba, her Panda bear collection, and most importantly reconnecting and spending time with her Cardinal O’Hara Classmates. She was known for her soft spoken kindness and understanding, and was found by friends to be a kind hearted person with a sweet soul. While she loved and cherished the time spent with her daughter, Renee and grandchildren, Paige and Megan, she longed for the time she would again be with her lifelong best friend and husband of 49 years, who predeceased her on May 10, 2016.
Jean was the loving mother of Renee Currie; Grandmother of Paige and Megan Currie. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne (John) Stewart, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday August 22nd, 4-8 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street.
