    Notes:

    Daniel H. Benjamin, Sr., a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at home. He was 70. He was born in Niagara Falls on August 8, 1945, the son of the late John R. and Mary Evelyn (Cushing) Benjamin. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. In 1963, Dan began a long career with the State of New York Department of Transportation.

    During the Vietnam War, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, a service of which he was very proud. He was honorable discharged and went back to work for the state, retiring in 2000, after 39 years.

    Dan was an avid NY Yankees fan and NASCAR Racing. His hobbies included restoring collectible vehicles, his pride being his 1934 Chevy Sedan. You could always find Dan looking for something to tinker with. He was a long standing member of the Free Wheelers.

    He is survived by the love of his life of 48 years, Roberta (Shearer) Benjamin; a son, Daniel Benjamin, Jr., (Amy) of Niagara Falls; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Brandon and Brittny; sisters in law, Elaine Benjamin and Priscilla (Richard) Holstrom; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John R. Benjamin, Jr.

    Friends may call Friday after 6 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., where Funeral services will be held at 8 PM with Military Honors. The interment will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery.

    If desired, memorials, may be made to the American Lung Association of WNY, 210 John Glenn Drive #3, Buffalo, NY 14228.

    Roberta E. (Shearer) Benjamin, of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, July 02, 2019 in Buffalo General Hospital.   She was 70 years old.
    Born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 27, 1948, she attended area schools.
    Roberta was employed as a secretary for several local businesses.  She retired from MJ Colucci and Son Funeral Chapel, Niagara Falls, after many years.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed crafting and baking. 
    She is survived by her son, Daniel Benjamin, Jr.,  of Niagara Falls; a sibling, Priscilla (Richard) Holstrom; grandchildren, Nicholas, Brandon and Brittny; many nieces and nephews. 
    She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Daniel Benjamin in July 2016.
    Funeral services will be private for the family.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., Niagara Falls.

    A lovely summer wedding was solemnized
    Saturday, June 13, when the
    Rev,. Charles R.. Osborn, of the Baptist
    church, united to marriage Miss
    Evelyn Oushlng, daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. R. Cushing, of 419 Third street,
    to John R. Benjamin, son of Mr. and
    Mre. D. E. Benjamin, of 2420 Pierce
    avenue.
    The bride was charming In a gown
    of shell pink silk net over taffeta,
    made on princess lines, with a matching
    net halo hat trimmed to blue.
    She wore a shoulder corsage of pink
    roses, sweet peas and lllies-of-the-valley.
    The maid of honor and only attendant.
    Miss Mary Benjamin, sister of the
    groom, wore a peach net redlngote
    over satin with a coronet of wood
    fiber roses In her hair. The groom
    was attended by Edward M. Cushing,
    brother of the bride.
    The bride's mother was gowned to
    black embroidered net with white accessories
    and wore a shoulder corsage
    of Talisman roses and sweet peas.
    The mother of the groom wore a
    French blue triple sheer crepe with
    white accessories. Her corsage was
    of roses and sweet peas.
    Following the ceremony a reception
    was held at the home of the bride, at
    which a delicious luncheon was served
    to 35 guests. The bride's table was
    centered with a three-tier wedding
    cake, flanked by tall pink tapers.
    Mr. and Mrs. John Benjamin left

    for a wedding trip through the New
    England states, visiting Boston, Mass.,
    and Portland, Maine. Mrs. Benjamin
    traveled in a banker's grey tailored
    suit, with which she wore white accessories.
    Out-of-town guests attending the
    wedding were David Mulrhead and
    Mrs. T. D. Mulrhead, of Andenrled,
    Pa.; Mrs. WUllam Jackson, of Windsor,
    Ont.
    Pre-nuptlal affairs given for the
    bride were a shower given by her
    Sunday school class of the Baptist
    church, at which she was presented
    with a beautiful floor lamp; a variety
    shower by Mrs. W. E. Messer; a kitchen
    shower by Bertha Abbott and a
    variety shower by Mary Benjamin.
