    Notes:

    Salvatore F. Scarpelli, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Northgate Manor under hospice care. Born in Rovito, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Filomena (Bruno) Scarpelli.
    Salvatore moved to Canada in 1951 and married his loving wife, Janet R. (Granieri) Scarpelli, on September 20, 1952 at St. Anne’s Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Following their marriage, they immigrated to the United States and settled in Niagara Falls, NY where they spent 64 loving years together. Mrs. Scarpelli predeceased him on September 28, 2016.
    Mr. Scarpelli was employed at the former Kimberly Clark and Nytek as a laborer for 30 years until his retirement in the mid-1980’s. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working on his home, as well as creating and building things.
    Salvatore is survived by his children, Anthony P. (MaryGrace) Scarpelli, Phyllis (Rene) Mueses and Mary Scarpelli; grandchildren, Franco (Krystal) Scarpelli, Justina (Michael) Freedman, Toni Elizabeth (Christopher) Tierney; great-grandchildren, Matteo, Gianna, Sofia, Angelina, Brady and Finley, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister.
    Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7th from 2 – 5 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Jeanne’s Hospice House Unit at Northgate Manor, 7264 Nash Road, N. Tonawanda, NY, 14120.

    Janet R. (Granieri) Scarpelli, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Carmela (Gualtieri) Granieri.

    Janet was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On September 20, 1952 she married Salvatore F. Scarpelli at St. Anne’s Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. She worked as a school aide for fifteen years for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. Janet was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church where she served as a member of their choir. She was also an avid reader and movie buff.

    In addition to her husband of sixty-four years, Janet is survived by three children, Anthony P. (MaryGrace) Scarpelli, Phyllis (Rene) Mueses and Mary Scarpelli; three grandchildren Franco (Krystal) Scarpelli, Justina (Michael) Freedman and Toni Elizabeth (Christopher) Tierney; six great- grandchildren Matteo, Gianna, Sofia, Angelina, Brady and Finley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by four siblings, Clementina (late Vincent) Rosanova, Joseph (late Rose) Granieri, Ida (late George) Tirabassi and Ronald (Sandra) Granieri.

    Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 3rd at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
