    Obituary of Shirley Richardson

    Shirley H. Richardson entered into rest November 5, 2016 after a long illness.

    Born in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Viola (Urtel) Heiman.

    Shirley was predeceased by her husbands, Jerry Martin (1954) and Philip Richardson (1980). She was also predeceased by her brothers, Wallace and Norman Heiman, and her sister, Verna Liskoff, all of Lockport; and her dear aunt, Eloise "Cookie" Rutland of Lockport and Leesburg, FLA.

    A graduate of Lockport High School, Shirley went on to study business at the University of Buffalo. She was employed at Bell & Howell in Chicago and later at the Upson Co. in Lockport. She left her job at Upson Co. in 1962 to raise her family, while gaining expertise in portfolio investment.

    Shirley enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards with her friends, going on outings with the Red Hat Society and Newfane Seniors, and was a member of Club 60 throughout the 1960s and 70s. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she also volunteered at Lockport Memorial Hospital, where she was a member of the Guild, and The Salvation Army.

    She is survived by her son, Chuck Richardson; daughter, Linda Michael of Bowling Green, KY; three grandchildren, Tyler J. Michael of Williamsville, Lindsey Bendel and Brittany Michael of Bowling Green, KY; and one great-grandchild, Dylan J. Michael-Robb of Williamsville. Shirley is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call Wednesday Nov. 9th 3-7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held on Thursday morning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Niagara Hospice in her memory. Online Condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.

    of Lockport for 40 years, Mrs.
    Viola C. Heiman died last evening
    at her home 293 Cottage street.
    She was the daughter of Philip
    and Hulda Behrens Urtel, attended
    public schools in Wheatfield and was
    a member of the Trinity Lutheran
    church and a charter member of the
    Lutheran Women's Missionary
    league.

    The wedding of Miss Viola O. Urtel,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
    Urtel of Ransomville, N. Y.. to Mr.
    Rudolph H. Heiman of North Ridge,
    N. Y.. was solemnized yesterday afternoon
    in the-Lutheran church-at
    North Ridge. A reception followed
    the ceremony at the home of the
    bride. Mr. and Mrs. Heiman will reside
    at North Ridge.
