BRZOZOWSKI BRZOZOWSKI - Stephanie (nee Palka) Daughter of Teofil and Jadwiga (Dudek) Palka, born on July 11, 1926 in North Tonawanda, NY. Where she lived for 91 years until entering into eternal rest on June 28, 2018, when she joined John, her husband of 71 years, who predeceased her in May 2018. Steffie is the beloved mother of Karen (Barry) Swartz and John (Sue) Brzozowski; adored grandmother of Jonathan (Jenna) Campbell and Jenna and Lyndsay Brzozowski; and proud great-grandmother of Jonathan, Jr. and Jade Campbell. Steffie is survived by her sister Alice Palka and was predeceased by sisters Emily Lukasik, Julia Pachla, Helen Bursik, Alvina Palka and brother Brian (Donna) Palka. Steffie is also survived by her loving sisters-in-law Mary (Roger) Sattelberg and Phyllis (Tony) Marki, as well as many nieces and nephews. Steffie met her future husband John when he returned home from the Navy in WWII and, at age 20, they were married in November of 1946. This blissful union remained steadfast for more than 71 years. Steffie worked several jobs over the next 45 years, retiring from DeGraff Memorial Hospital at age 65. During her working years, Steffie also took care of her grandson Jonathan during his preschool years. She always felt blessed that her grandchildren were close by and spent a great deal of time with her. Steffie and John hosted annual Labor Day picnics where the whole family would gather at their home, and she would make her special recipe potato salad and famous chocolate and lemon pies. Christmas Eve at Steffie and John's home were also much-loved times when her children, grandchildren and eventually great-grandchildren would be treated to a wonderful holiday meal. Steffie and John also enjoyed an active retirement, traveling to the Bahamas and Hawaii, going on cruises and taking many trips to a wide variety of cities across the country for annual Navy reunions. Even with all the traveling, Steffie's favorite place was home, where she welcomed family, friends and neighbors with a warm smile and an invitation to come in and visit. Stephanie was blessed to live a full and love-filled life and will be greatly missed by all. No prior visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (Oliver St.) for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on MONDAY, July 2 at 9:30 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations in Stephanie's name may be made to the Kaleida Health Foundations. Arrangements by the SABER FUNERAL HOME (692-0271).
