    Debra J. Ganshaw, age 60 of Ransomville, died Sunday December 11, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston after a short illness.


    Debbie was born March 16, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Carol (Johnston) Steblein and the late Joseph Steblein. A lifelong resident, she was a 1974 graduate of Wilson High School and on May 21, 1976 she married Harold Ganshaw.


    Debbie was the Market Manager for Coulter's Farm Market where she was employed for 14 years. Previously she had worked for many years at Luff's Greenhouses.




    She loved gardening, her pets (especially her "grand dogs"), and the Buffalo Sabres. Debbie also enjoyed spending time with her family and her customers at the farm.


    She is survived by her husband, Harold; her children, Trevor (Nicole) Ganshaw, Erin (Boyd) MacTavish, and Jeremy (Jessica) Ganshaw; her brothers, Karl (Anne), Joel, and John (Melissa) Steblein; and her mother in law, Elaine Edmiston.




    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday, December 15, from 3 - 8 pm. Graveside services in North Ridge Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Charity of one's choice.

    Ernest H. Ganshaw, Jr., September 5, 2016 in Niagara Hospice House with his family at his side. Born on August 17, 1933 in the Town of Niagara, he is the son of the late Ernest H. and Helen (Britton) Ganshaw, Sr.
    He attended local schools and worked the family farm then served in the Korean War in the Army in 1953 as a Demolition Expert honorably discharged in 1955. He worked for Allied Chemical in Wilson starting in 1956 retiring after 25 years he also worked for Hamilton and Clark in his spare time. Ernest met Karen Walker in 1963 and they married July 25, 1964. He loved CB radios, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially camp in Stuben County Town of Killbuck.
    Surviving besides his wife is children, Harold (Debbie) Ganshaw of Wilson, Linda Johnson of Wrights Corners, Darin Ganshaw of Wilson and Ernest W. Ganshaw of Sanborn. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Ernest H. Ganshaw II; brother, Samuel (Ann) Ganshaw of Pennsylvania; and sister, Barbara Ganshaw.
    Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice or Ransomville Free Methodist Church.

    Carol Jean Steblein passed away March 3, 2023 after a short illness.  Born May 16, 1935 in Lockport she was the daughter of Harold and Ella (Bohnstadt) Johnston.  Carol worked for Harrison Radiator Division of GM in production, retiring in 1997 after 25 years.  She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Steblein, daughter Debra Ganshaw, and brother Calvin Johnston.
    Carol is survived by her three sons, John (Melissa) Steblein of North Carolina, Karl (Anne) Steblein of Lockport, and Joel (Lori) Steblein of Arizona, also son-in-law Harold Ganshaw of Wilson, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Carol was the heart of her family, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many.  She was a talented cook and baker who loved hosting family gatherings.  Carol’s favorite hobbies were spending summer months gardening, shopping, and traveling.  Her travels included much of the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean.  She never remained idle and lived her life to the fullest.   She will certainly be missed by all.
    Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 16th from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held Friday, March 17th at 10 AM.  Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Carol Steblein’s name.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
