    Notes:

    Of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY ,  on March 20, 1934, the son of the late Edward M. and Helen E. [Bourque] Scherer.
    Mr. Scherer graduated from Bishop Duffy  and  SUNY at Morrisville, he received his Bachelor and Masters degrees at Buffalo State College. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Scherer was  a shop teacher with  Wilson Central School for 7 years, he later became a District Service Engineer with Ford Motor Company in Buffalo for  30 years, before retiring in 1999.  He was an avid golfer and a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club. Mr. Scherer enjoyed working on  cars, gardening and woodworking.
    He is survived by his wife of 58 years Elizabeth [Luczyszyn] Scherer, one son Lawrence Scherer, two daughters Carolynn (Joel) Katz and Cathleen (Richard) Keasey, eight grandchildren Ethan (Martha) Seth and Jonah Katz, Sean, Adam, Kyle, Lydia and Rebecca Keasey, two sisters Margaret (late Stephen) Stirling and Mary Ellen Goupil, also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Scherer was the father of the late Joanne Scherer and brother of the late Edward  (late Lenore) Scherer
    His family will be present on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.
    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Peter's Building Fund or to Niagara Hospice.
    Interment  with Military Honors in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY.

    Miss Helen Elizabeth Bourque, daugh-
    ter„.of'Mrs. Joseph A. Bourque, Ryerson
    Crescent was married: to Edward M.
    Scherer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman
    J. Scherer, of Niagara Falls, N..Y. in
    St. Patrick's church, Saturday, May
    26th, at eleven o'clock. The Rev. Father
    Gardner officiated.
    The church was attractively. decorated
    with Narcissus and pink tulips.
    Mr. Jack Brett sang before and during
    the ceremony accompanied by Miss
    Marguerite Cox.
    The bride' was escorted by her bro-
    ther. She was frocked In Orchid crepe
    with a tight bodice and full ruffled
    skirt and wore a picture-hat of Orchid
    Mohair. She carried an armful of
    two-toned lavender sweet peas and yel-
    low roses.
    Miss Marie Bourque was her sister's
    maid of honor and only attendant, She
    wore.a gown of beige crepe romatine
    and lace with a large hat of beige lace
    and horsehair. She carried a bouquet of
    coral sweet peas and forget-me-nots.
    Robert J. Brennan was best man for
    Mr. Scherer whose ushers were Gene J.
    Perry and Gerald J. Daley.
    A reception was held at the home of
    the bride's mother. The house was pro-
    fusely "decorated with lilacs and Darwin
    tulips.
    ^Mr*" and Mrs. Scherer left by motor
    for the New Jersey coast. Mrs. Scherer
    travelling in a brown and tan ensem-
    ble.
    The out of town guests included Mr.
    and Mrs. A. Lard, Mr. and Mr. A.
    Cashman, Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. J.
    Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. W. Warnke,
    Mr. and Mrs. T. Bourque, Mr. and Mrs.

    Mr. and Mrs. J. MacDonald, Mr. and
    Mrs. F. Lannon. Buffalo.
