    Allan H. DeVantier, age 84, of the Town of Wheatfield, August 7, 2013, in the Schoellkopf Health Center. Allan owned and operated Niagara View Farms in the Town of Wheatfield and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company for over 63 years and was a member of the Wheatfield Businessman's Association. Allan was a life-long resident and proud supporter of the Town of Wheatfield.
    He was the husband of the late Joan (nee Stoelting) DeVantier. Beloved father of James DeVantier, Michael DeVantier, Kenneth (Sarah) DeVantier, Paul DeVantier, all of the Town of Wheatfield and Susan (Gerard) Wojcinski of Lockport. Grandfather of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Mildred DeVantier and Ray DeVantier. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Saturday only from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM at St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Rd, in Bergholz. The Rev. Jeffrey Milsten will officiate. Interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or Niagara Hospice.

    DeVantier - Joan E. DeVantier, 48, of the Town of Wheatfield, Tuesday (January 6, 1981) at Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. DeVantier was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, the Women of the Church and was a former Sunday School teacher.
    She is survived by her husband, Allan H. DeVantier; four sons, James (Sandra) DeVantier, Michael (Gail) DeVantier, Kenneth (Sherrill) DeVantier, all of the Town of Wheatfield, Paul DeVantier, at home; a daughter, Miss Susan DeVantier, at home and two grandsons, Anthony and Matthew.
    The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda, this evening from 7 to 9 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Services will be held in St. James Lutheran Church Friday at 10:30 A.M., the Rev. John H. Crilley will officiate. Interment St. James Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Vespers.

  3. 6.  MARTIN, Gordon Frederick was born on 23 Mar 1932 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY (son of MARTIN, George F and ZIEHM, Ella R); died on 30 Mar 2017 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

    Gordon F. Martin, age 85 of the Town of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on March 30, 2017 while at the Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, New York. Born in North Tonawanda, New York on March 23, 1932, he was the son of the late George and Ella (Ziehm) Martin. Gordon was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1952-1954. He was employed as a milkman with the Sterling Amherst Dairy, worked at Hubman Burial Vault Company, North Tonawanda, and Niagara Monument Works, Niagara Falls, until his retirement. A life long member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, where he formerly served as a Trustee and worked on the church cemetery. Gordon was a member of the American Legion- Wheatfield Post 1451, the Jaycee's, Wheatfield Democratic Club, and a 63 year member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company. 
     Surviving are his three children, Sherrill (James Gray) DeVantier, Tamara (James Bellina) Heim, and Gregory (Sherri) Martin; a brother, Dennis (Donna) Martin; five grandchildren, Timothy (Kim) DeVantier, Kelli DeVantier, Gregory, Jamie and Alyssa Martin; a great-grandson, Calvin DeVantier; a nephew, Kevin; and niece, Beth Ann.
    Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, on Monday (April 3) from 3-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Tuesday (April 4) at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road, in Wheatfield. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Cemetery Fund.

    WHEATFIELD - Mrs. Lilly E. DeVantier, 78, of 2654 , Niagara Road, died today Thursday (May 15, 1975) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and life long resident of Wheatfield.
    Survivors include two sons, Ray and Allen DeVantier, a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Mildred) DeVantier, all of this town; a brother, William . Kroening of this town; a sister, Mrs. Edna Haseley of Lewiston; ten grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was the wife of the late Hugo DeVantier.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Lehman officiating.
    Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

    BERGOLTZ, Oct. 9. — A very pretty
    wedding was solemnized In the Saint
    Peter's church at . Walmore recently
    when the Rev. Edward Grabau, pastor
    of that church, read the marriage lines
    which joined in the holy bonds of matrimony,
    Miss Florence Walck. daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Walck. of
    Walmore, to Mr. Arnold Stoelting, son
    of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stoelting, of
    the Sy road., this village. At the appointed
    hour the bridal party entered
    the church which was artistically decorated
    with ferns and flowers of the
    season and was filled with friends and
    relatives of the young people. The
    bride looked lovely in a gown of white
    bridal satin, her veil of silk tulle and
    lace was cap shape and was caught
    with orange blossoms on either side:
    her shower bouquet was of sweetheart
    roses and smilax, tied with white satin
    ribbon and silk tulle. The bridesmaids.
    Miss Evelyn Jagow, who wore at gown
    of peach color crepe, and Miss Lcrena
    Stoelting, who wore a gown of orchid
    crepe, both cousins of the groom, and
    Miss Frances Haseley and Miss Marion
    Haseley, who wore green and yellow
    chiffon gowns, both cousins of the
    bride, looked very charming, they wore
    hose and slippers to match their gowns
    and carried shower, bouquets tied with
    streamers. Miss Lydia Walck, maid of
    honor and sister of the bride, looked
    radiant in a handsome gown of blue
    screpe and carried a shower bouquet
    tied with silk tulle and wore hose and
    slippers to match. Herbert Stoelting, a
    brother of the groom, acted as best
    man, while Theodor Stoelting,- brother
    of the groom, and Edwin Mueller,
    brother-in-law of the groom, acted as
    ushers. Immediately after the ceremony
    a reception was held at-the home
    of the bride to about 65 guests. The
    bride's table was centered with two
    large tiered wedding cakes and white
    and pink roses. The bride and groom
    left on a trip to Detroit, Michigan, and
    other points and Will spend some time
    with the bride's parents upon their
    return. They received many lovely
    gifts. Quite a number of pre-nuptlal
    affairs were given in their honor.

    Services for George F. Martin , who operated a roadside produce stand, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
    Martin , 90, of Amherst Presbyterian Nursing Home, Williamsville, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 1992) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst.
    He was a native of Wheatfield and worked on his family's farm all of his life. He was well known for his roadside produce stand in Wheatfield. Martin was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
    His wife, the former Ella Ziehn, died in 1970.
    Survivors include two sons, Gordon and Dennis; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

    MARTIN – Mrs. Ella R. Martin, 66, of 7040 Ward road, Town of Wheatfield, Friday (Nov. 20, 1970) at the North Town Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

    Mrs. Martin was a member of St, John’s Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by her husband, George F. Martin; two sons, George F. and Dennis G., both of the Town of Wheatfield; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Ziehm of Buffalo and Miss Ariel Ziehm of Tonawanda, and a brother, William Ziehm, Town of Wheatfield. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, until Monday. Services will be in St. John’s Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Clarence W.     ESTHER L.K. HERMAN, age 100, a life long resident of Wheatfield, entered into a peaceful life with her Lord, on December 30, 2017 at the Brookdale Niagara residence in Wheatfield. Born August 28, 1917, daughter of the late Gustav and Anna (McGill) Werth. Esther married Martin F. Herman, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2003. She was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Wheatfield; and had many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, and traveling with the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. Esther was employed for many years at the former G.C. Murphy store in North Tonawanda.
    Survivors include three children, Sharon (Lee) Muir, Wayne (Lynda) Herman, and Wesley (Barbara) Herman; a daughter in law, Janet Herman; former daughter in law, Joy Herman; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by a son, "Woody" Herman; and grandson, Rodney Herman. Esther will be sadly missed by everyone, especially friends at the Woodlands Senior Apartments.
    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Wednesday (Jan. 3) from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Thursday (Jan. 4) at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Interment in the church cemetery.     A very pretty wedding was solemnized
    Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock
    at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran
    church, when Miss Esther L. Werth,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav
    Werth, of the Niagara Palls boulevard,
    became the bride of Martin P.
    Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
    Herman, of Fredericks street. The
    Rev. J. W. Thiemecke performed the
    ceremony. The church was decorated
    with palms and autumn flowers.. Mrs.
    J. W. Thiemecke rendered two solos,
    "Because" and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot
    Me."
    The bride, who was given in marriage
    by her father, was gowned in
    white transparent velvet made princess
    style, with a cowl neck and fashioned
    with a train. White velvet sandals
    completed her costume. Her veil
    of lace and tulle was caught with
    orange blossoms and she carried an
    arm bouquet of white bridal roses,
    calla lilies, button chrysanthemums
    and gypsophelia.
    Mrs. George Garlapo, sister- of the
    bride, acted as matron of honor, attired
    in a gown of wine transparent
    velvet with sandals to match and
    carrying an arm bouquet of Talisman
    roses and rust chrysanthemums. The
    bridesmaids. Miss Margaret Durow,
    cousin of the groom, and Miss Hilda
    De Vantier, wore gowns of green
    transparent velvet with sandals to
    match and carried arm bouquets of
    Talisman roses and rust chrysanthemums.
    The flower girl. Lois Marie Urtel.
    niece of the bride, wore a dainty
    frock of pink taffeta and carried a
    basket of mixed flowers.
    Rueben Herman was his brother's
    best man and the ushers were George
    Garlapo and Arthur Herman.
    The bride's mother wore a dress of
    black crepe and the groom's mother
    wore navy blue crepe and both wore
    shoulder corsages of roses, chrysanthemums
    and gypsophelia.
    Immediately following the ceremony
    a reception was held for 115 guests.
    The bride's table, laid for 18 was centered
    with a large wedding cake.
    After a wedding trip to Pittsburgh,
    Pa., Mr. Herman and his bride will
    be at home in Niagara Falls boulevard
