    William Henry Steinbrenner, 81, of The Villages, FL, passed away on April 15, 2017. Bill was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH in 1957. He retired after long careers from Prudential Bache, Securities and First Albany Corporation. He lived for extended periods of time in Erie, PA, Alexandria, VA, Toronto, Canada, and Derby, NY before his final residence in The Villages. Bill had a lifelong interest in sailing enjoying many hours on Lake Erie. Other interests included reading and collecting books as well as traveling. He was a founding member of the Rotary Club of The Villages-Noon. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Henry Steinbrenner, Sr. and his mother, Margaret McDougald Steinbrenner. He is survived by his wife, Mary Steinbrenner; his daughters, Kathryn Steinbrenner (Brad) Hayes of New Castle, IN, and Amy Steinbrenner (John) Rarick of Marietta, GA; and a son, William “Bill” (Julie) Steinbrenner of Derby, NY. Additional survivors include three step-children; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
    A private funeral will be held at a later date.

    Services For River Victim Set
    Funeral services for William Steinbrenner, 55, whose body was recovered Friday from the Whirlpool, will be held Tuesday at 10 am at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home.
    Mr. Steinbrenner, who lived here at 8236 Laughlin Drive plunged over the falls Aug 10. Dr. K. M V. Fielding, Niagara Falls, Ont . coroner, conducted a post mortem Friday and is withholding his findiings.
    Six officers of the Niagara Park Commission police pulled Mr. Steinbrenner's body from the Whirlpool.
    Tourists spotted the floating body about 10 a m. and notified police The body was not seen again until 11:46 a m., but it was not brought out of the water until about 1 p.m.
    Constable Robert Chewerda conducted the investigation.
    The body was identified by Mr. Steinbrenner's son, William H. Steinbrenner of Erie, Pa., who has been here since his father had been reported missing last Friday.
    Two witnesses told Niagara Falls, NY Frontier Park police last Friday night that they saw a man answering Mr. Steinbrenner's description going over the American Falls after he leaped into the river from Prospect Park.
    Police quoted witnesses as saying the man jumped into the river at a point about 150 feet above the cataracts. Mr. Steinbrenner a 32 yr. employee of DuPont was last seen boarding a westbound bus at the plant at 11 a.m. Friday.
    He was an electrical foreman at DuPont.
    He was a lifetime resident of this city.
    Survivors include his wife, Margaret M. Steinbrenner, Niagara Falls; the son, William H. Erie. Pa. a daughter, Mrs. John R. Morgan. California, two brothers. Gottlieb J. and
    August C. Steinbrenner, both of Niagara Falls, and three sisters. Miss Rose Steinbrenner, Mrs Wilbur Haseley. and Mrs Charles Hall, all of Niagara Falls. Four grandchildren also survive. Rev. Theodore L. Menter, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, will officiate at the services. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

    A former resident of this city for
    more than 50 years, August Steinbrenner,
    76, died yesterday in Cr>
    rana, L. I , after a long illness. He
    had resided on Long Island for about
    four years.
    As a resident of this city he operated
    a lumber-mill knows as Steinbrenner
    and Fisher. He resided at
    1118 Pierce avenue for many years.
    Surviving are his wife, Herminia
    Steinbrenner. three sons, Gottlieb,
    August and William Steinbrenner,
    three daughters, Carolyn Steinbrenner
    Hasley. Rose Steinbrenner Daubney
    and Marie Steinbrenner Hall, all
    of this city; a brother, Henry Steinbrenner,
    White Plains, N, Y.; a sister,
    Caroline Kuebler, Staten Island,
    N. Y„ and grandchildren and great
    grandchildren.
    Mr. Steinbrenner will be brought
    to this city tomorrow.
    The Rev. Leonhard M. Ludwig, St.
    Paul's L.uthcran church, will officiate
    at the funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday
    at the Otto Redanz Funeral home,
    Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran
    cemetery, Bergholtz.

    Mrs. Steinbrenner Called by Death
    Mrs. Maria Steinbrenner, 66 years old, 1118 Pierce avenue, a well known resident of the north end of the city, died today at Mount St. Mary's hospital.
    Born in Germany. Mrs. Steinbrenner had resided In Niagara Falls for the last 50 years, during most of which time she was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Cleveland avenue and Eighteenth street.
    She is survived by her husband. August Steinbrenner; seven children, Gottlieb J. August H., Jr.; Mrs. Wilbur Haseley, Mrs. Bernie Ackerson, Mrs. Ralph Daubney and Mrs. George Hall, all of this city; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers, Louis and John Mahanger, of Tacoma, Washington, and Casper Mahanger, and a sister, Mrs. Annie Fink, both of Germany.
    Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's church Friday at 3 pm. with the Rev. John Kuder officiating. The remains will be at the Otto Redanz funeral home, Michigan avenue and Tenth street, until Friday at 10:00 am.
