    Sue ‘Sara’ A. Rice, 60, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Born on April 28, 1957, in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Beltrano) DiPasquale.
    Sara grew up in Niagara Falls, and attended local Catholic schools.  On October 18, 1986, she married Ronald R. Rice. She worked in banking for over 40 years, starting at Permanent Bank and later at Key Bank in consumer lending.  Most recently, she was employed at M&T Bank in Niagara Falls and Buffalo, where she served as an Assistant Vice President in charge of consumer lending for the Northeast Region.   Sara served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston, NY, and was also a former member of the Parish Council. Her life centered on her family, friends, and her dogs Honey and Baby. She always enjoyed frequent breakfast gatherings with her friends.  Above all, Sara always put herself last so that the less fortunate could be taken care of first.
    In addition to her husband of 30 years, Sara is survived by her son, Christopher C. Rice; three siblings, Joseph (Marilyn) DiPasquale, Pat Dipasquale Carroll, Sam J. (Kerry) DiPasquale; her nieces and nephews, Anthony (Jennifer) DiPasquale, Lenny Breeden, Joseph Carroll, Stacie DiPasquale, Jill (Jeff) Manka, Alanna Ballone, Alexis Marie, Tara (Matt) May, Charles Rice and Elizabeth Rice; her brother-in-law Dr. Charles D. (Debbie) Rice, her sister-in-law Lorraine D. (Lee Keener) Rice, one aunt and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
    Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31st followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.  Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Road, Youngstown, NY.

    NIAGARA FALLS —
    Alice (Bax) Rice, 96, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Elderwood Health Care Center at Riverwood in Grand Island, NY. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfredo and Carmella (DiSalvo) Bax.
    On September 1, 1941, Alice married Charles E. Rice in Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls. Alice began working at Como Restaurant and later worked as a sales clerk at Biers Department Store on Falls Street, and later at the Rainbow Mall, all in Niagara Falls, NY. Alice will be remembered for her fabulous cooking skills, especially baking cookies for many of her family's weddings. She also enjoyed bowling, crocheting and working in her garden. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and sharing in their special moments. When her children were young, she was also active in the Mothers Club at Sacred Heart School and later on Bishop Duffy and Madonna High Schools in Niagara Falls.
    Alice was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Rice on January 24, 1976. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Charles D. (Deborah) Rice of Grand Island, NY, Lorraine D. (Lee) Keener of Ojai, CA, and Ronald R. (Sue) R www.mjcioluccifuneralchapel.com ice of Lewiston, NY; five grandchildren, Alexis Marie, Tara (Matt) May, Charles F. Rice, Elizabeth Rice, and Christopher Rice; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Dylan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased her five siblings, Joseph (late Fran) Bax, Dr. Alphonso L. (late Corrine) Bax, Helen Bax, Emilia "Amy" (late John) Seyler, Massimo "Max" (late Marion) Bax and late infant brother, Octavio Bax.
    Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 23rd at 10:00 AM at St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston, with Rev. Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
