    Stricken with a heart attack while
    working at'the Carborundum company's
    plant' yesterday, James * A.
    was taken to Mt. St. Mary's hos-
    Steer, 45, of 1511 Seventeenth street,
    pltal where he died today.
    A native of this city, Mr. Steer
    was a World War 1 veteran and was
    a member of CoL Charles H. Morrow
    Post 198, Regular Veterans association.
    He had been employed as ah
    electric welder by the Carbarundum
    company for the last 11 years.
    Mr. Steer is survived by his mother,
    Mrs. Agnes Donavan; two daughters.
    Mrs. William Mann, Jr., and
    Miss Agnes M. Steer; a son, James
    M.; three sisters. Mrs. Elmer Sevens,
    Mrs. George Urquhart and Mrs.
    Howard Wllllck, and a granddaughter,
    all of this city. .
    Funeral services win be held from
    the home of Mrs: Ellen Bauer, 1839
    Michigan avenue, Saturday at 8:30
    a. m. and at St.. Mary's church at
    9 a.m.

    John Bauer. 66 years old. a lifelong
    resident of this city, died suddenly
    early this morning of a heart
    attack at his home, 1639 Michigan
    avenue. Mr. Bauer was a carpenter
    and Independent contractor.
    Funeral services will be held from
    the family home at 2 30 p. m . Tuesday,
    with the Rev. T. E. Tomerlln
    officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood
    cemetery.
    Surviving are his wife. Mrs Ellen
    Bauer; five sons and daughters, Mrs.
    Fred Schotz, Mrs. George McDonell,
    Miss Gladys Bauer, Mrs. James Steer
    and Fred Bauer, all of this city;
    four brothers and sisters, Jacob Bauer,
    of Toronto, Ont.; Mrs. R. Carpenter,
    of Buffalo; Mrs. George Schwenkbeck
    and Mrs. Anna Little, both of
    this city.
    Mr. Bailor was a member of the
    Woodmen of tho World. Lowry Camp
    No. 45; the Carpenters union and the
    old Rapids Hose company at Suspension
    Bridge.

    John married BRYDGES, Ellen about 1892. Ellen (daughter of BRYDGES, Frederick William and HARKINS, Susan) was born about 1874 in New York; died on 18 Dec 1953 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mrs. Ellen Bauer, 80, who died yesterday
    at her home, 1639 "Michigan
    Ave. She was an aunt of State
    Sen. Earl W. Brydges.
    Born in this city, "she was the
    widow of John Bauer who died in
    1936. She was a member of tha
    First Christian Church,
    She was the mother of Mrs.
    Florence Schotz, Mrs. Irene Mc
    Donell and Frederick Bauer, all
    of this city, and Mrs. Gladys Mc-
    Conkey, Oshawa, Ont.: the-sister
    of Mrs. Cora Murphy, Robert and
    Richard Brydges, all of this city,
    and William Brydges. Lynchburg.
    Va.. Also surviving are 19 grand-
    children a n d 26 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the home Monday at 2 p. m., with
    the Rev. Jesse Simpson. pastor of
    the First Christian Church. Interment
    will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
