    Christian Wittkowski, 88, died
    yesterday afternoon at the home
    of His son. Armin T., of 288 Sommer
    street North Tonawanda.
    He was born in Germany and
    lived in North Tonawanda for the
    past 58 years. He is survived by
    a brother John of Neudeck, Germany,
    two other sons, Herman F.
    of North Tonawanda and Christian
    A., of Miami, Fla., and two
    daughters, Mrs. William Krause
    and Mrs. Otto Grose of North
    Tonawanda. Also surviving him
    are 10 grandchildren and four
    great grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Saturday
    afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The
    Rev. Theodore Mayer will officiate.
    Burial will be in Salem
    Cemetery.

    d i n g , y e s t e r d a y a f t e r n o o n and evening.
    A family dinner with covers for fif-
    t e e n was s e r v e d in the evening. The
    p a r t y was composed of Mr. and Mrs.
    W i t t k o w s k i ' s c h i l d r e n numbering
    t h r e e of whom are m a r r i e d , and
    g r a n d c h i l d r e n . They are Mr
    Mrs. William Krause. Mr. and
    H. F. W i t t k o w s k i . Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
    Grosse. Mrs. C h r i s t i a n W i t t k o w s k i , J r . ;
    and Mr. Armin W i t t k o w s k i . The guests
    of honor were p r e s e n t e d with a numb
    e r of gifts, among those a ruby
    b r o o c h and a set of ruby cuff links.
    T h e s e were presented by Mr Witt-
    k o w s k i ' s eldest son.
    Following the s e r v i c e s at Frieden's
    Church, last evening, Reverend and
    Mrs. K. A. Schulz called to extend
    their congratulations and Reverend
    S c h u l z gave an a p p r o p r i a t e speech.
    Mr and Mrs. W i t t k o w s k i were mar
    ried at Neudorfeheu. West Prussia,
    Germany in 1864 and came to America
    and then settling in North Tonawanda
    where they have resided
    They are r e c e i v i n g t h e congratulations
    and best wishes of a large circle of
    f r i e n d s .

    Mr. and Mrs. Christian Wittkowski
    of 286 Bryant street, celebrated
    their 57th wedding anniversary
    yesterday. They were presented
    with a beautiful bouquet of
    chrysanthemums by their children.
    Many friends called to extend
    their best wishes. The children,
    with the exception of a son
    living in Miami, Fla., were all
    present with their families for
    the evening.
    Mr. and Mrs. Wittkowski were
    married in Germany on Nov. 8,
    1874, came to America in 1881,
    and have been residents of North
    Tonawanda for 50 years.
    Mr. and Mrs. Wittkowski have
    four children residing in North
    Tonawanda, Mrs. William Krause,
    Mrs. Otto Grose, and Messrs. Ar-
    m l n a n d Herman Wittkowski, also
    a son, Christian, Jr., of Miami.
