Herbert E. Eichler, age 86 of North Tonawanda, passed away August 2, 2017. Herbert had retired as a Supervisor at General Motors, Town of Tonawanda. He was an avid bowler and Euchre player. He was a member of the Third Warders Club and the Bob Cat Club. Beloved husband of Norma (nee Kraft) for over 67 years. Dear father of Paul (Linda) Eichler, Roy Eichler, and Amy (Michael) Ceisner. Grandfather of Aimee Eichler, Beau (Dee) Ceisner, Sara Ceisner, and the late Nicholas Eichler. Great-grandfather of Gannon and Oaklyn Ceisner, and Evelyn Wildt. He was the brother of the late Charlotte Hoefert and Ernest Eichler. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Norma Eichler Obituary

Norma Eichler, born on February 15, 1931 in East Amherst, NY, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2024, while surrounded by her family under the care of Hospice. Norma, a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, NY, was an alumni of St. Mary's Swormsville, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

Norma was a dedicated housewife, who took pride in her role as a homemaker and enjoyed the domestic arts. She had a unique talent for making everyone around her feel loved and cared for. Her hobbies included playing the piano and accordion, which brought joy and music to many family gatherings. Norma was a prayer warrior, often praying the rosary, her faith was an integral part of her life and she shared this with those around her. She had a heart full of love for her family and friends, who were the center of her world.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Gail) Eichler, Roy Eichler, and Amy (Michael) Ceisner; Four grandchildren, late Nicholas Eichler, Aimee-Jo Eichler, Beau (Danette) Ceisner and Sara (Clifford) Brucker; Seven Great-grandchildren Evelyn, Eli, Gannon, Oaklyn, Charlotte, Howard, and Henry. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Herbert Eichler, her parents, Andrew and Ida Kraft, and her siblings, Marcel Kraft and Elizabeth Mohr.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, from 4 to 8 PM, with a Memorial Service at 7:30 pm at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC.

Eicher, 69, of 777 East Robinson St., North Tonawanda, died Wednesday (Dec. 21, 1966) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.Born in Germany, he had lived n North Tonawanda 39 years, formerly employed as a brass moulder (sp.) at American District Steam Co. Survived by his wife,Emily (Witt) Eichler; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbert Hoefert of Casalina (sp.), Ohio:two sons, Ernest G., and Herbert E. of North Tonawanda; a sister, Mrs. Marie Hollasch  of North Tonawanda, and nine grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Wattengel Funeral Home Inc., 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Donald Gardner will officiate. Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery. If desired,memorial (sp.) may be made to the Cancer Fund.
