    104, a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, passed away peacefully on  Friday, August 25, 2017, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. He was born on August 20, 1913 the son of the late Albert and Elsie [Schultz] Moje.
    Elmer graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1931. He was a Master Sergeant with the US Army in the European Theater, during World War II. Elmer was a general foreman with National Grinding Wheel in North Tonawanda for over 38 years, before retiring in 1976. He became a fixture at the North Tonawanda Farmers Market with his granddaughter Carly, where he was affectionately known as the "Honey Man" and later as the "Garlic Man".
    Elmer was a dedicated member of  the Shawnee Fire Company for the past 65 years, serving as financial secretary and on many of company's committees and boards over the years. He was a member of the Niagara County Fireman's Association, the Western New York Fireman's Volunteer Association, the New York State Fireman's Association and the Tonawanda  American Legion  Post 264. He also served on the Town of Wheatfield planning board. Elmer was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a member of the Bobcats.    
    He was the husband of the late Ester L. [Paschka] Moje, who passed away in January of 1994.
    Elmer is survived by a daughter Beverly (John) Freiert, a son Robert (Sandy) Moje, seven grandchildren Carly (Mackenzie) Fabiny, Richard (fiancé' Brittnee) Freiert, Eric Moje, Nicole Thomas, Jinnette Horan-Moje, Tim Walsh, Stanley Wesolowski, a niece Jeanne (Paul) Greasley and his dear friend Marilyn Moritz, also several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David Moje and brother of the late Donald Moje.
    His family will be present on Wednesday and Thursday from 1-3 & 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. The Shawnee Fire Company will hold services on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ-Shawnee, 3921 Mapleton Road, North Tonawanda, NY, with the Rev. Ronald Lord officiating.
    Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made in his name to St. Paul's UCC Shawnee, the Shawnee Fire Co. or to Niagara Hospice.
    Interment with military honors in Wheatfield Cemetery, Town of Wheatfield, NY.

    Albert C. Moje, 68, of Townline Rd., Town of Wheatfield, died this morning in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a two-week illness. He was an employee of National Grinding Wheel Co. A life-long resident of the Town of Wheatfield, he is survived by his wife, Elsie, nee Schultz; two sons, Elmer and Donald; four sisters, Mrs. Helena Jagow, Mrs. Peter Flach, Mrs. Charles Newman, all of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Bertha Miller of Shawnee; two brothers, Henry of Pendleton and Edward of Shawnee and two grandchildren. He was a former assessor of the Town of Wheatfield and a member of St. Paul's E. & R. Church of Shawnee. Friends may call at the Wattengel Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. E. Sideris will officiate and burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.

    Friday, November 7, 1919
    Henry Moje, a retired Shawnee farmer, died yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Flach, of No. 86 Keil street.  Mr. Moje was born in Germany eighty-one years ago. He came to the United States sixty-seven years ago and with the exception of the last three years, during which he resided with his daughter, he had made his home in the town of Shawnee. His death followed a lingering illness.  Surviving are four sons, Charles Moje of Pittsburg, Henry Moje of Pendleton and Edward and Albert Moje of Shawnee, and four daughters, Mrs. Herman Jagow, Mrs. Flach and Mrs. Charles Newman of North Tonawanda and Mrs. John Miller of Shawnee. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the Flach residence and an hour later from the St. Paul's church in Shawnee.  Rev. E. A. Schulz will officiate and burial will be in the Shawnee cemetery.
