Tonawanda News - 9/14/1917

John Nightengale, 30 years old, a well-known resident of Martinsville, died at his home on Belling Place early this morning. Besides his wife, two sons, Leroy and John Nightengale; one daughter, Erma Nightengale; two brothers, George and Harry Nightengale and four sisters, Dora, Ella, Elma, and Gertrude Nightengale and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Nightengale survive. The funeral will be held privately Sunday afternoon, the Rev E. A. Schultz officiating. Burial will he made in St. Paul's cemetery

John married LUEDERS, Helena about 1908. Helena (daughter of LUEDERS, Gustave C and LUEDERSDORF, Philiphine) was born about 1888 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY; died on 30 Jul 1961 in Degraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. NIGHTINGALE, LeRoy William was born about 1909 in New York; died on 11 Oct 1964 in Tonawanda, Erie County, NY.
2. NIGHTENGALE, Irma H was born about 1911 in New York; and died.
3. NIGHTINGALE, John C was born on 18 May 1912 in New York; died in May 1974 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY.
