    Notes:

    Carol L. Rising, age 73, formerly of Adams Circle in Ransomville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Memory Care Center of Waltonwood Lakeside Living Community in Sterling Heights, MI.
     
    Carol was born January 27, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Johnson) Samplinski and she graduated from Lewiston-Porter Central High School in 1962. On October 12, 1962 Carol married Addison "Gardner" Rising. They were married for 49 years before he passed away on January 31, 2012. She was employed as a general laborer and retired after 30 years from Harrison Radiator Division of GM in Lockport.
     
    If you knew Carol, you would know she was an avid horse lover and enjoyed going to the races in Canada to watch her horses run. Her favorite horses of all time were Salute the King and King Can Run All Day. She also loved animals and adopted several rescue dogs and cats treating them like they were part of her family. Carol spent a lot of time riding her three-wheel bike around the neighborhood, stopping along the way to talk to the neighbors. She not only enjoyed baking, she always took delight in trying new recipes and when she wasn't baking, she loved DiCamillo's linzer cookies and made frequent trips to pick up her favorite treat. According to the care givers at Waltonwood, Carol was the happiest resident and was very outgoing and friendly with the staff and other residents.
     
    She was also preceded in death by a son Charles Gardner Rising. She is survived by a son, Christopher (Josefina) Rising of Macomb, Michigan and a daughter Rebecca (Chris) Chesnick of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kayla and Courtney Rising, from Macomb, Michigan, Laurienne (Chesnick) Wolfe of Clearwater, FL, Sarah (Chesnick) Gibbons of Martins Ferry, OH., and Ladimer Chesnick of Columbus, OH. She also had two great grandchildren; Celia and Bo Wolfe of Clearwater, FL; her siblings, Gloria Gallerani and James "Tip" (Ann) Samplinski; also several nieces and nephews.
     
    Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Prior to her passing, Carol suffered from dementia for several years.
