Ruth E. (May) Clements, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born on May 16, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Matilda (Pettitt) May. On July 26, 1947, she married John H. Clements, Sr. He predeceased her on August 6, 1992.
Ruth was employed by the Spirella Clothing Store, the United Office Building and for 15 years at the YWCA as a fitness instructor.
Ruth will be remembered for her “PMA (positive mental attitude)" as well as being an inspiration to many. Ruth enjoyed watching soap operas, gardening, traveling with her family, visiting Tim Hortons and Bob Evans, and feeding the birds. Above all, her life was centered around her family.
Ruth is survived by her children, John H. (Margaret) Clements, Jr. of Lockport, NY, Sherrie Deacon of the Town of Niagara, NY and Deborah (David) Ellis of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Paul, Randy, Aaron, Amy, Jamie, Benjamin, True and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Logan, Gracie, Sydney, Michael, Sarina, Matthew, Chloe, Alexis, Benjamin, Jr., Jenna, Regina, William, Liam and Elijah and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by siblings, Frances Wasenko, Dorothy Woolcutt, Kenneth May and Elizabeth Gilchrist.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 1st from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a service on Friday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5871 Military Road, Lewiston, NY, where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the ALS Association, www.alsa.org.Children:
