    Notes:

    James J. ("Jim" or "JJ") Carr, 64, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away January 31, 2018 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Jim was born in Lewiston, NY to the late James T. and Nadine Carr on August 22, 1953. He attended Lewiston Porter High School and graduated Class of 1971, where he then went on to marry is his long-wedded surviving wife of 42 years, Mari Jo E. Carr (DePlanche), on September 27, 1975.
    Jim grew up in Youngstown, NY helping with the family farm and produce business, and eventually became a long-time resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He continued with a long career as a member of the United Steelworkers union and worked at Union Carbide Corporation and Tam Ceramics, Inc (retired 2007). Prior to and post retirement, Jim reinvigorated his long-time passion for electronics, where he successfully obtained his "A+" and "Network+" computer certifications.
    He was often most noted for his persistently high degree of work ethic, commitment to providing for his family and sharing his never wavering support and compassion for fellow family members. Over the years, Jim enjoyed hunting, baseball/softball, his beloved New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, and most of all, spending time with his family and close friends. He was fiercely competitive and skilled on the softball diamond, and as some would find out, often made opponents a little more protected of themselves. He would go on to share his competitiveness, skill, work ethic, and love of the game to each his surviving children, Bruce (Danielle) Carr, James (Amy) Carr, Melanie (David) Byrd.
    Jim is also predeceased by his late brother Kevin Carr; and is survived by his other siblings; Gary (Diane) Carr, Sharon (Robert) Ward, and Billy (Linda) Carr; three grandchildren; Dylan Carr (James & Amy), David Byrd III and Mariah Byrd (Melanie & David), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
    Friends and family may call Saturday, February 3rd from 2:00pm -7:00pm at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319 24th. St., cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where Memorial services will begin at 6:30pm. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. in lieu of flowers, share in Jim's love for animals by donating to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.

    YOUNGSTOWN — Nadine (Smith) Carr, 80, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital Lewiston, NY. Born on September 25, 1931 in Fonde, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Dean (Pack) Smith.

    Nadine moved to Niagara Falls, NY, in 1950. On April 8, 1950, she married her late husband, James T. Carr, who predeceased her in July of 2005. In 1956, she and her husband moved to Youngstown, NY. Together with her husband, children and grandchildren, they worked on their farm. The Carr's operated a fruit stand on Upper Mountain and Military Rds. for over fifty years. Nadine also worked at Neisner's Department Store in Lewiston, NY. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family gatherings especially at Christmas, her pet cockatiels and her cats.

    She is survived by her children, Garry L. (Diane) Carr and Kevin D. Carr, both of Youngstown, NY, James J. (Marijo) Carr, Billy W. (Linda) Carr, both of Niagara Falls, NY and Sharon Y. (Robert) Ward of Lewiston, NY; her grandchildren, Gretchen (Ronald) Kadlecik, Brian (Karola) Carr, Darryl (Brandy) Carr, Daniel Carr, Yvonne (Donald) Stephenson, Michael (Jenna) Ward, Bruce (Danielle) Carr, James (Amy) Carr, Jr., Melanie (David) Byrd, Shawn (Jen) Carr, Steven Carr, Melissa Carr, Bridget (Jose) Mendez; and twelve great-grandchildren; her brothers, Everett (Joyce) Smith of Springboro, OH, Kenneth (Patricia) of Youngstown, NY and John (Sondra) Smith of Niagara Falls, NY; also many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in law, Sylvia (Arnold) Cobb.

    Friends may call on Tuesday, May 8th from 3-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th St., cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 AM with Rev. Robert Bellingham officiating. Burial following in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
