Notes:

Mafalda “Mickey” Pietrangeli, 90 of Niagara Falls, NY entered into her home in heaven and fulfilling her wish to be reunited with her husband and parents on February 17, 2018.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 24, 1927 she was the devoted daughter to Frank and Mamie (Barone) Mariglio.
Mickey attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On April 24, 1948 she married Julio Pietrangeli at St. Joseph’s Church.  Mr. Pietrangeli predeceased her on September 1, 1999.
Mickey along with her husband Julio owned and operated the JayLu Restaurant with her sister Jean and along with her husband owned and operated Harpor Janitorial Paper Products both in Niagara Falls, NY.
Her family and friends fondly remember gatherings around the dining room table on Ferry Avenue.  Mickey was an extraordinary cook and baker.  Her homemade cookies and cakes were a legendary part of many celebrations.
Throughout her life she devoted much of her time and energy to being a caregiver to her parents and husband.  If family or her friends were ill or needed a shoulder to cry on Mickey was the first to offer help or deliver “one” of her cakes.  Above all Mrs. Pietrangeli’s life was centered around her family whom she loved and adored.
Through their loving union Mickey and Julio had four sons, Frank (Felicia) Pietrangeli, Christopher Pietrangeli, Michael (Anna Jean) Pietrangeli and Peter (Debbie) Pietrangeli; ten grandchildren, Frank (Haley) Pietrangeli, Anthony (Marla) Pietrangeli, Lora (Stephen) Ledford, Renee (Joel) Serra, Christopher Pietrangeli, Gina (Salvatore) LoBianco, Peter Pietrangeli, Bryan (Laura) Pietrangeli, Tina (Steve) Tropea and Terri (Scott) Bernardi; sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Jeanette (late Lester ‘Casey’) Pietschmann, Joseph (Kathleen) Mariglio and Angelo ‘Sonny’ (Frances) Mariglio. Mickey was also the sister-in-law of Flora (Renato) DiNobile and late Anna (late Ralph) Zito.  The family also extends a special thank you to her niece, Michele McKenzie and husband Barry and their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Elderwood at Wheatfield for their loving care and support to Mickey and her family.
 
Visitation will be held on Monday February 19th from 3-8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 20th at 10 AM in St. John DeLaSalle Church, 8469 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.  EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Miracle 4 Maya Fund which assists children and families battling childhood cancer.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
