    Notes:

    Alfred E. “Big Al” McDonell of 404 91st Street, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Oakwood Manor in Williamsville. He was 86. He was born in LaSalle on January 15, 1932, a son of George and Irene (Bauer) McDonell.
    He attended local schools and then served in the United States Navy during the Korean War where he was wounded. The injuries he sustained lead to his retirement from the Navy. Alfred was employed as a Union Carpenter (Local 280) and worked throughout the area until his retirement. He also owned a remodeling business and three income properties. He was a member of the American Legion and an advocate of the DAV and he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting along with rides in the Southern Tier.
    Alfred is survived by 5 children: Rose McDonell of Lewiston, Irene McDonell of Niagara Falls, George (Nancy) McDonell of Niagara Falls, Brett (Jane) McDonell of Taberg, NY and Alfred McDonell, Jr. of New York, NY. He is also survived by two siblings: Rose Murphy and James F. McDonell both of Niagara Falls, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
    He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Morrison) McDonell, his daughter Nannette McDonell Broeker and 5 siblings: Wallace, Jack, Robert and George McDonell and Ruth Prigge.
    Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Tuesday from 2-5 PM where funeral services will be held at 5 immediately following the visitation. Burial with Military Honors will be private in Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls.

    She is survived by three
    sons, Wallace B., Alfred E.
    and James F. McDonell; one
    daughter, Mrs. Rose Murphy;
    a sister, Mrs. Gladys Mc-
    Conkey, and a brother, Fred
    T. Bauer, all of this city. She
    is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at
    the Lane Funeral Home, with
    hte Rev. Hans Klee officiating.
    Burial will be in Oakwood
    Cemetery.

    from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    John Bauer. 66 years old. a lifelong
    resident of this city, died suddenly
    early this morning of a heart
    attack at his home, 1639 Michigan
    avenue. Mr. Bauer was a carpenter
    and Independent contractor.
    Funeral services will be held from
    the family home at 2 30 p. m . Tuesday,
    with the Rev. T. E. Tomerlln
    officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood
    cemetery.
    Surviving are his wife. Mrs Ellen
    Bauer; five sons and daughters, Mrs.
    Fred Schotz, Mrs. George McDonell,
    Miss Gladys Bauer, Mrs. James Steer
    and Fred Bauer, all of this city;
    four brothers and sisters, Jacob Bauer,
    of Toronto, Ont.; Mrs. R. Carpenter,

    and Mrs. Anna Little, both of
    this city.
    Mr. Bailor was a member of the
    Woodmen of tho World. Lowry Camp
    No. 45; the Carpenters union and the
    old Rapids Hose company at Suspension
    Bridge.

    the home Monday at 2 p. m., with
    the Rev. Jesse Simpson. pastor of
