    Geraldine Bennett, age 77, of Lewiston, NY, entered into rest surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Mount Saint Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. Born July 10, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, Geraldine is the daughter of the late Nicholas and Elda (DeSimone) Caputo.
    Geraldine married William “Warren” Bennett III on September 19, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Bennett died February 27, 1995. She worked at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, the Draft Board and Vix Drugstore. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and being with her family and friends. Her favorite TV shows were Judge Judy, HGTV, Mystery/Investigation Movies, Football and Tennis
    Surviving Geraldine are her daughters: Alisa (Jeffrey) Richmond and Laura (Adam) Douglas; grandson, Nicholas, Matthew, and Aaron Richmond. Sister of: Frank (Felicia) Caputo and nephew, Jonathan Caputo.
    Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm with the Reverend David Hayes officiating. Inturn
    Inturnment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Niagara Hospice.

    Bennett Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William
    W. Bennett, 1142 Jarrett Drive, Lewiston,
    Saturday (Sept. 19, 1964).
    Officiating at the 11 a.m., double-ring
    ceremony In Sacred Heart Church was Rev.
    Leon M. Neu.

    THE BRIDE, given in marriage by her
    father, wore a gown of peau. de soie and
    Alencon lace with bell-shaped skirt and
    detachable chapel train. A crown of pearl
    and crystal held her bouffant veil of silk
    illusion. She carried a bouquet of white
    carnations.
    Similarly attired in floor length gowns
    with bell-shaped skirt arid matching rose
    headpiece with bouffant maline veil were
    the matron of honor, Mrs. Guido DeSimone,
    in royal blue; the bridesmaid, Miss Anita
    DeSimone, and junior bridesmaid. Miss
    Cynthia DeSimone. both in French blue!

    BEST MAN was Harold Bennett, the
    bridegroom's brother. Duane Bennett and
    Guido DeSimone seated guests.
    An afternoon reception was at the Crown
    and Anchor Restaurant.
    The mother of the bride wore a blue
    dress with blue lace and matching accessories.
    A beige sheath dress and matching
    accessories were chosen by the mother of
    the bridegroom.
    The couple is touring New York State.

    A 55-year-old retired millwright who spent leisure
    hours walking the craggy, tree-lined footpaths of the
    Lewiston escarpment was killed Wednesday when a 2,-
    OOO-pound slab of rock tore loose and fell on him.
    William W. Bennett II of 1142 Jarrett Drive, Town
    of Lewiston, died in Mount St. Mary's Hospital about 5
    p.m. of injuries suffered in the freak accident.
    Mr. Bennett waa found by
    State Trooper Ronald Hadsall
    about 500 yards up the escarpment
    from
    R i d g e Road.
    The scene is
    above a trailer
    camp Just west
    of the Niagara
    Ski club.
    Investigator
    Terrence Reil-.
    ly revisited
    the scene
    today, sur-
    mised that Mr.
    Bennett was
    sitting under
    a tree when
    the rock tore loose and
    slammed him forward into the
    ground. The victim had been
    carrying a hatchet, the trooper
    said.
    The tree also was struck as
    the heavy rock fell.
    Hears Cries for Help
    Mr., Bennett's cries for help
    were heard by Mrs. Lorraine
    Hambrock, 1114 Ridge Road,
    who called state police short-
    ly after 3 p.m.
    Trooper Hadwell called for
    help when he found Mr. Bennett
    Mr. Bennett suffered severe

    internal Injuries and com-
    pound fractures of both legs.
    A Frontier ambulance was
    summoned and attendants
    climbed up the steep incline
    to aid the victim.
    Carried Down Hill
    Splints were applied to Mr.
    Bennett's legs and he was
    eased onto a stretcher for the
    precarious trip down the hill.
    Coroner F. Eugene Ingram
    attributed the cause of death
    to internal hemorrhaging and
    multiple chest fractures.
    A huge, cave-like gap.was
    left in the overhanging cliff
    from which the rock fell.
    The rock broke in two and
    slid apart when it struck the
    ground
    A chipmunk and rabbit
    scurried out from under the
    broken corncobs were lying
    Edward Brdtfeach, of the
    Rest May Fall
    Investigator Reilly said the
    cliff, green with age, was
    probably undermined and he
    speculated that the rest of it
    "will probably fall some day."
    Three youngsters played In
    a yard near the trailer camp.
    The steep hill is covered
    with hundreds of old rocks
    and the ground today was toft
    and slippery.
    Mr. Bennett was employed
    it Stauffer Chemical Co. for
    22 years before retiring a
    yasr ago.
    He resided at the Jarrett
    Drive address for 20 years.

    Irene; three sons, William
    Bennett III and Duane, this

    city, and Harold Bennett,
    Rochester; a brother, Charles
    Bennett, Youngstown, and
    four sisters, Mrs. Lila Hobbs,
    Belmont, N.Y.; Mrs. Arthur
    (Vera) Peterson, Wilcox, Pa.;
    Mrs. Harold (Laura) Baldwin,
    Syracuse, and Mrs. Glen
    (Grace) Townsend, Santa Ana,
    Calif. He is also survived by
    a granddaughter.

    Funeral services will be
    held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at
    the Lane funeral Home with
    Rev.. Paul Denise and Rev.
    Edward Breitbach, of the
    Lewiston Presbyterian
    Church officiating.
    Burial will be in Riverdale
    Cemetery. ,
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home from 2 p.m. to
    5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    At a charming ceremony, on August
    14. at the Bacon Memorial Church,
    Irene Elizabath, daughter of Edward
    Scheer. and William Warren Bennett,
    son of Mrs. George Wilson, of Sunbury.
    Pa., and the late William W.
    Bennett, were united in marriage with
    the Rev. John Borneman officiating.
    The bride entered on the arm of
    her father, to the strains of Lohengrin's
    wedding march. Her dress was
    of white satin, princess style, with
    a short train. The sleeves of Chantilly
    lace had 'triple puffs at the
    shoulder and were tightly fitted and
    pointed at the wrists. The collar,
    Queen Anne style, was also of Chantilly
    lace. She wore a tiara of rhinestones
    and carried a bouquet of lilies.
    Her matron of honor was Mrs.
    Laura Brown, this city, who wore a
    redlngote style dress of poudre blue
    chiffon with a pink chiffon coat, blue
    shoes and gloves. The bridesmaid
    was Miss Maud Bacon who wore a
    peach satin redlngote dress with
    peach net coat banded with peach
    satin at the hem. Her shoes and
    gloves were of matching peach. Both
    attendants carried bouquets of pastel
    colored gladioli, and received
    rhinestone tiaras and needlepoint
    covered compacts as gifts from the
    bride.
    The groom was attended by his
    brother-in-law, Robert Brown, as
    best man, and G. Haarold Scheer as
    usher. Each received a silver
    initial key chain from the groom.
    A reception was held at the home
    of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Powell, of
    Lockport. N. Y., for the Immediate
    families and friends of the bride
    and groom. A buffet luncheon was
    served on a table decorated with purple
    and white gladioli on each
    side of the wedlng cake.
    Mr. and Mrs. Bennett left on a
    motor trip to Washington. D -C, and
    Atlantic City, the bride traveling ln
    a white gabardine suit with green
    accessories.
    The out of town guests were Mrs.
    George Wilson, mother' of the groom,
    of Sunbury, Pa.; William Schaeffer,
    of Sunbury. Pa.; Mr. and Mrs.
    George Bennett, of Cleveland. Ohio,
    and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Powall
    and son, of Lockport, N. Y.
