    Notes:

    Cynthia R. Banks of Newfane NY, daughter of Grace A. Bechtel Banks and the late Adrian M. Banks, was born on April 7, 1957 entered into eternal peace on October 11, 2022.
    She is survived by her siblings: Philip (Beth) Banks, Susan (the late Douglas) Linderman, Paula (Charles) Dahlke, Christopher (Kristine) Banks, Rebecca (Richard) Schweigert, George (Donna) Banks, Laurette (Michael) Clark, and Margaret (James) Ruckdeschel. Her twenty-seven nieces and nephews were a very important part of her life, along with twenty-five great nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her nephew Geoffrey Linderman.
    She attended Newfane Central School and received her AAS at Empire State College. She was employed at Bells Supermarket, Mesmer Convenience store, Niagara County Health Department, and Harrison Radiators/ Delphi. She was a co-founder of the Montessori based “The Little Children Center” TLC Preschool in Olcott.
    One of her deepest passions was her love of animals. She owned numerous cats and dogs, caring for many rescue cats. She also donated to various wildlife foundations. She loved music, dancing and had a great sense of humor, she just loved being plain silly.
    Memorial Service will be held on October 21, 2022, calling hours are from 1pm – 3pm, service will be held at 3pm. The interment will be held at the discretion of the family.

    Notes:

    Adrian M. Banks passed on peacefully to Heaven under the care of Niagara Hospice on December 5, 2018. He was born in Niagara Falls to the late Dr. George B. and Ruth C. Banks on June 7, 1926. He attended Stella Niagara and Wilson high schools. He graduated with a BA at Niagara University. As a veteran of the US Navy he served from 1944 – 54, on the “USS Diamond Head” during WWll and the Korean Conflict. Adrian always had a kind word for everyone he met and was very community minded. He retired from Harrison Radiator. His volunteer service included: Toast Masters, Meals on Wheels, “Write Touch” writers group, lifelong Roman Catholic member and very active at St. Brendan’s Church (formerly St. Bridget’s). Married on May 30, 1951 to his loving wife of 67 years, Grace “His Gracie” (Bechtel) Banks. They were blessed by children: Phil (Beth) Banks, Susan (Doug) Linderman, Paula (Charles) Dahlke, Christopher (Kris) Banks, Cynthia Banks, Rebecca (Richard) Schweigert, George (Donna) Banks, Laurette (Michael) Clark, Margaret (James) Ruckdeschel. 27 grandchildren, 11 (+ 3 baking) great grand-children. Sadly missed by his siblings the late Theresa (Al) Webster, Paul (Irene) Banks, Margaret Moore, Lawrence (Diane) Banks, Mary (Mark) Pioli and many nieces and nephews. He was truly one of the good ones!!. Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY FRIDAY 6-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated SATURDAY at 11:00 AM in St. Brendan's on the Lake (St. Bridget,s) Ewings Road Newfane, NY. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations to either Niagara Hospice, Niagara Celtic Society, or your favorite charity.

    She was predeceased by : her parents, Philip D. Bechtel and Harriet Switzer Bechtel; her husband Adrian Banks; her daughter Cynthia Banks; her grandson Geoffrey Linderman; and her son-in-law Douglas Linderman.
    She is survived by : her children, Philip Banks (Beth), Susan Linderman, Paula Dahlke (Charles), Christopher Banks (Kristine), Rebecca Schweigert (Richard), George Banks (Donna), Laurette Clark (Michael) and Margaret Ruckdeschel (James); and her siblings-in-law, Mary, Mark Pioli, Irene Banks and Diane Banks. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews.
    A mass will be held on Saturday, February 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Brendan's.

    Miss Grace A. Bechtel became
    the bride of Mr. Adrian Banks on
    Memorial day at St. John de LaSalle
    church, with the Rev. Francis W.
    McKenna officiating.
    Miss Bechtel is the daughter of
    Mr. Philip D. Bechtel, Buffalo avenue,
    and the late Mrs. Harriet Switzer
    Bechtel. Mr. Banks is the son
    of Dr. and Mrs. George B. Banks,
    Randall road, Ransomville.
    Given in marriage by her uncle,
    Mr. C. Allen Switzer, the bride
    wore a ballerina-length gown
    of white nylon lace over satin, fashioned
    with* a full hooped skirt and
    fitted bodice with scalloped neckline.
    On her head she. wore a circlet
    of orange blossoms, from which
    fell an ankle-length lace veil. She
    carried a white satin prayerbook
    with orange blossom streamers.
    The bride's cousin, Mrs. Morris
    W. Swilter, her only attendant,
    wore a rose nylon lace ballerinalength
    long-sleeved gown with a full
    hooped skirt. Her headpiece was a
    circlet of yellow rosebuds and she
    carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
    Mr. Paul Banks, brother of the
    bridegroom, was the best man. The
    ushers were Mr. Charles A. Switzer,
    Jr., and Mr. Russell Kleinhans.
    During the ceremony, music was
    provided by Alice Ross, who sang
    "Ave Maria" and "Panis Angelicus,"
    accompanied by Mrs. John Dowdall,
    church organist.
    A reception for the bride and
    groom was given by the bride's
    aunts. Mrs. Fanny Kleinhans and
    Miss Isabel Switzer, at the former's
    home, in Lockport.
    Following the reception, Mr. and
    Mrs. Banks left for a motor trip
    to Montreal. Que. For traveling,
    the bride chose a gray suit with
    navy blue and white accessories and
    a yellow orchid corsage,,

    43 years, Philip Bechtel. 74.
    of 7313 Buffalo Ave., died suddenly
    at his r e s i d e n c e on
    Thursday (Mar. 26, 1959).
    Born in the Town of Lewis-
    ton, Mr. Bechtel was employed
    for 32 years as a machinist
    foreman at the Acheson Graph-
    ite, a division of National Car-
    bon Co. He was a member of
    the 25-Year-Club and retired
    in 1949.
    Survivors include two sons,
    Philip S. Bechtel, this city, and
    Charles s. Bechtel, Buffalo;
    one daughter, Mrs. Adrian
    Banks, this city; three sisters,
    Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, this
    city, and Mrs. Halvin Alcorn
    and Mrs. Frederick Bond, both
    of the Town of Niagara; two
    brothers, Mr. Charles Betchel,
    Town of Niagara, and Jacob
    Bechtel, Sanborn, and eight
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the
    Lane Funeral Home with the
    Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer of-
    ficiating. Burial will be in
    Riverdale Cemetery.

    Word has been received of the
    death today In Niagara Falls of
    Mrs Harriett S. Bechtel. 63, wife
    of Philip D. Bechtel. Niagara Falls,
    and sister of Niagara County Welfare
    Commissioner Milton E. Swit-
    zer of Lockport. Mrs. Bechtel was
    a native of the Town of Lewiston
    and had been in poor health for
    several years.
    Other survivors include four sis-
    ters, Miss Isabel L. Switzer and
    Mrs. Fanny Kleinhans of Lockport;
    Mrs. Clyde Armstrong and Mrs. Al-
    len Kobler, both of Niagara Falls;
    and another brother, Charles allen
    Switzer of Niagara Falls. Two
    sons, Philip S. and Charles S., and
    a daughter, Miss Grace A Bechtel,
    all of Niagara Falls, also survive.
    Services will be held at the Grid-
    ley Funeral Home, 750 Main St.,,
    niagara Falls, at 2:30 Monday.

    Sanborn. Feb. 17.-A very pretty
    wedding was quietly solemnized on
    Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock at
    the home, of Mr and Mrs. Charles K
    Switzer of Michigan Avenue. Niagara
    Falls, when their daughter, Harriet
    Elisabeth, was united In marriage to
    Mr. Philip D. Bechtel, Jr.. of Sanborn
    the Rev. Ira L. Parvin officiated. Mr.
    Sylvester O. Bechtel. brother of the
    groom, acted as best man After the
    ceremony supper was served to guests
    numbering 24. Mr. and Mrs. Bechtel
    have left for a short weddlng trip
    and will be at home after March 1.
