    FRANK J. SCHERRER, age 88 of Niagara Falls, NY, was called to his heavenly home on January 2, 2019 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on January 19, 1930; son of the late George and Marie (Katzendobler) Scherrer. A life long member of St. James Lutheran Church, in Bergholz, where he served as a Trustee. Frank was employed at Continental Can for 35 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1985. He was a sports fan and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. 
    Surviving is his loving wife, Norma (Loeschke) Scherrer. They were united in marriage on November 27, 1948; four children, Randall (Charlene) Scherrer, Sandra (Mario) Bertozzi, Patricia Evans, and John (Staci) Scherrer; ten grandchildren, Vanessa Tobey, Stephanie Swanson, Anthony DeVantier, Matthew DeVantier, Christina Allen, Cory Evans, Christopher Evans, Kimberly Henry, Jessica Sesnie, and Kirsten Scherrer; and 14 great-grandchildren. 
    He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Mary Mante, Henry Scherrer, Rose Gatley, Leatta Broeker, Audrey Reitz, and George Scherrer.
    Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Saturday (January 5) from 2-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Dan Tabor, on Sunday (January 6) at 2:00 p.m. in St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, (corner Niagara Road and Rohr Street) in Bergholz. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

    William Loeschke in Business There for Thirty Years
    BERGHOLTZ, April 23.-William Loeschke, 62 years old, well known Bergholtz restaurant proprietor and & resident of this locality for the greater part of his life, died at Memorial hospital today, following a brief illness with pneumonia.
    During the 30 years that Loeschke operated his restaurant in the Niagara road, he had become famous for the excellence of his German cooking and was widely known throughout Western New York as "Big Bill." Many persons were in the habit of driving for miles for one of his famous dinners.
    Born in Germany, Mr. Loesch (sic) came to this country with his family when seven years old and spent most of the time since then in Bergholtz. He was ill for only a few days. He was a member of St. James Lutheran church of Bergholtz.
    Surviving are his wife, Ruth Wolf Loeschke. daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Wolf, Bergholtz peace justice for many years, and four children. Alice, Helen, William and Norma. Loeschke, all at home. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, although the services will probably be held Sunday afternoon.

    Mrs. Ruth Haseley
    Bergholz-Mrs. Ruth Haseley, 77, of 2500 Niagara Road, was pronounced dead of arrival at Memorial Medical Center Sunday(Dec. 5, 1971) after she was stricken while attending services at St. James Lutheran Church.
    Mrs. Haseley was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield and was the wife of the late William Loeschke and Paul C. Haseley.
    Survivors include a son, William Loeschke; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Alice) Schultz, Mrs. Douglas (Helen) Roberts, Mrs. Frank (Norma) Scherrer, and Miss Ruth Haseley, all of Bergholz; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at St. James Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Lehman officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. today and Tuesday.

    August Loeschke, seventy-three years old, a retired farmer, living on the Niagara road at Bergholtz, died suddenly at his home yesterday afternoon. He was found by members of his family lying unconscious on the floor of the bedroom where he went to sleep early in the afternoon. Dr. W. A. Peart of Sanborn was called and found Loeschke had suffered a stroke of apoplexy. He died soon after being stricken. Loeschke was born in Germany. He had lived at Bergholtz for the past forty years . He is survived by a son, William Loeschke of Bergholtz; two daughters. Mrs. Ludwig Voss of Buffalo and Mrs. Benjamin Bunston of Cinconnatus . N. Y., and one sister, Mrs. John Miller of Germany. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence and half and hour later, standard time, at Holy Ghost Lutheran church, Bergholtz , Rev. A. C. Stark officiating . Burial will be in Holy Ghost cemetery .

    Mrs. Wilhelmina L. Loeschke, 65 years old, wife of August Loeschke of Bergholtz, died yesterday morning at her home after a lingering illness. She was born in Germany and came here over thirty years ago. Besides her husband, two daughters . Miss Martha Loeschke of Bergholtz and Mrs. Henry Voss of Buffalo. and one son, William Loeschke of Bergholtz, survive. The funeral will he held from the family home at 3 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon and a half hour later from the Holy Ghost Lutheran church, the Rev. Philip Stark officiating. Burial will be made at Bergholtz.
