    Notes:

    Paul J. Swartz, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on February 12, 2024 at his residence under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Jean I. (Murphy) Swartz.
    Paul was a 1973 graduate of Bishop Duffy High School.  He was employed for over 30 years as a Machine Operator for Carborundum Corporation (later Unifrax) until 2011.  He then was employed at Niagara County Community College in Maintenance for 6 years, and most recently worked seasonally for Delaware North on Goat Island in Niagara Falls for 12 years.  On September 26, 2015, he married Carol J. (DeMita) Swartz in Grand Island, NY.  
    Paul was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.  He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Buffalo Bills, and the Buffalo Sabres.  He enjoyed shopping, especially grocery shopping and occasionally frequenting the casino with his wife.  Paul loved the holidays and loved to decorate, winning multiple annual awards from the Niagara Beautification Commission for best decorated home.  Above all, he loved being together with his family at picnics and get togethers, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
    In addition to his wife of 8 years, Paul is survived by his step-children, Mandy May (Eric Hibschweiler), Adam (Nicole) Stankovich, and Ashley Biro (Michael Dale); 13 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; his siblings, Lee (Florence) Swartz, Karen (late Richard) Smith, Donald (Patricia) Swartz, Lawrence (Joyce) Swartz, and Mary Anne Swartz; his aunt, Sr. Bernadette Geiser, Sisters of Mercy, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is also survived by his in-laws, Richard (late Sharon) DeMita and Debra (Craig) Simpson.  Paul was predeceased by his step-daughter, Amber Stankovich; his granddaughter, Lillian May; his siblings, Maureen (late Alan) Seward, Michael R. Swartz, Timothy (Joanne) Swartz, Dennis (late Annmarie) Swartz, and Philip (Linda) Swartz, as well as by 2 nephews.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 11 AM – 1:30 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM.  Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
