Harvey R. Mack, Jr., lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday October 27, 2014 at his residence. He was 80. He was born in Niagara Falls on May 20, 1934, a son of the late Harvey R. and Ann M. (Schwenkbeck), and stepmother Vivian (Riley) Mack Sr.

Harvey attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He then worked for E.I. DuPont for 39 years, retiring as a Instrument mechanic in 1992.

He was a member of the LaSalle Sportsman's Club, the Athletic Club at DuPont, the County Fireman's Association, the Fireman's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) and was a life member of Frontier Fire Hall, having served for 63 years.

Harvey enjoyed practical Jokes, deer hunting, fishing, boating, and golf.

Mr. Mack is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Genevieve M. (Coyle) Mack, two children: Bruce W. (Donna) Mack and Jewel Mack, two grandchildren; Brandon and Hallee and his two sisters, Shirley (late Floyd) Pope of Florida and Sandra (John) Paul of Niagara Falls; with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, George Mack and his sister-in-law Kathryn (Gensler) Mack.

There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Frontier Fire Hall, 2176 Liberty Drive, Niagara Falls, New York 14304. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Mack, 78, of 1848 Niagara Ave.,
who died yesterday at his home
after a long illness, will he conducted
at Zion Evangelical Lutheran
Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by
the Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer. D.D.
Mr. Mack came to this city 54
years ago. He was a native of
Germany; Until his retirement 13
years ago, he had served as a conductor
for the New York Central
Railroad for 41 years. He was a
member of Niagara River Lodge,
F A AM, for 50 years and a member
of Niagara Falls Lodge, 1QOF.
for 47 years. He also was a mem-
ber of the Zion Church and of the
Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
His body will be at me Gridley
Funeral Home until 10 p.m. tomorrow
and at the church after 11 a.m.
Wednesday. Burial will be in
Riverdale Cemetery.
Mr. Mack is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Elizabeth Mack; a son, Harvey.
R. Mack; and a daughter, Miss Al-
berta C. Mack, this city. He also is
survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles
Blttle, Vancouver, B.C.;, two sisters
in Germany and four grandchildren.

George married BECKER, Elizabeth about 1904. Elizabeth (daughter of BECKER, Henry S and TEDORF, Anna) was born on 6 Sep 1883 in Elmwood, Ontario, Canada; died on 15 Jan 1974 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY; was buried in Riverdale Cemetery, Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY. Notes:

After the divorce of this couple, the children went to live with William Schwenkbeck and Mollie. After Mollie died in 1926, the children were old enough to be on their own, but the children of William and Mollie were placed in an orphanage. All this according to Karlheinz Schoenfeld in 11/97.

John was baptized Johannes Jacob. He was a stationary engineer for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. This according to Juanita Halliday Josey's FTM data.
