    Notes:

    Victor H. Strassburg Sr., a longtime resident of Lewiston, passed away at his
    home on Monday, June 3, 2019. He was 88. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on
    November 25, 1930, he was the son of Harold and Evelyn (Masters) Strassburg.
    Victor was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He served his country proud at
    the early age of 18. His career led him back into servicing the military in a
    different capacity, as a government contractor for most of his career.
    Victor was the Founder and CEO of Steele Circle Building Corporation, which
    serviced and maintained military housing units across the country.
    He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Rose (Whitehead) Strassburg; two
    daughters, Dawn Marie (Lawrence) Houck and Lessa (Josh) “Leeza” Edholm; a
    sister, Eleanor Murphy; grandchildren, Dayna; Erika; Stefanie and Nickolas; great
    grandchildren, Chase, Andrew, and Riley, several nieces and nephews. He was
    predeceased by his son, Victor H. Strassburg Jr. and two grandsons, Steven and
    Eric.
    As a true testament to Victor’s life as a very generous man, he gifted himself to
    the University of Rochester medical school.
    The family will be present on Friday, June 21 from 2-4 PM in the LANE FUNERAL
    HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where Memorial services with Military Honors
    will be held at 4 PM.
    Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the John R. Oishei Children’s
    Hospital, 818 Elliott Street, Buffalo, NY 14203 or to the University of Rochester,
    Anatomical Gift Program, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642.
    The interment will be held privately at a future date by the family.

    Ellen Rose (Whitehead) Strassburg , a longtime resident of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1,2020. She was a vibrant, beautiful 83 years young. Born in Cold Springs, New York on July 24, 1936, she was the daughter of Albert Whitehead Sr. born in Ireland and Lena Critelli born in Cold Springs, NY. Ellen is predeceased by her husband of 62 years Victor Strassburg, Sr. this past June 2019; a brother Albert "Butch" Whitehead and her sister Marie Rachwal. Ellen was the Co-Founder Steele Circle Building Corporation, a very successful business which serviced and maintained military housing units across the country. She worked for the past 23 years and up until the day she became ill for Jaffri Medical Associates.  She is survived by two daughters, Dawn Marie (Lawrence) Houck and Lessa (Josh) “Leeza” Edholm;  grandchildren, Dayna; Erika; Stefanie (Derek) and Nickolas (Karly); great grandchildren, Chase, Andrew, and Riley, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Victor H. Strassburg Jr. and two grandsons, Steven and Eric. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren lovingly called her "Nang." She is also survived by special friends, Dr. Syed Jaffri and his wife Valentina. The family will be holding a private service and will be scheduling a memorial of Ellen's life later in the year. 
    Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, Buffalo NY Or The Evergreen Foundation, Buffalo, NY.

    brief illness.
    He was the widow of Myrtle
    (Steidman) Strassburg.
    Retired in 1966, he had been a
    supervisor at Bell Aerosystems
    Co.
    He Is survived by two sons,
    Victor of Niagara Falls, and
    Howard of Nunda, N.Y.; a
    daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Zellner
    of North Tonawanda and six
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the
    Hamilton and Clark Funeral
    Homefwith the Rev. Allen H.
    Goss officiating.

    funeral home today from 2 to 4
    and 7 to 9 p.m.

    Man Dies After Auto Collision
    Bergholtz Resident Succumbs in Hospital Here
    Herman Strasburg 58 years old, of Bergholtz, died shortly after noon today in Memorial hospital from injuries sustained Saturday morning in an automobile collision on the Niagara Falls boulevard near Bergholtz. Strasburg's car, which he was driving out of a gasoline station at the time of the accident, was struck by another car driven by Carl Kosbob, 323 Cambridge street, Buffalo. Two women and a child were also injured in the accident. Mrs. Walter Hofer, 26 years old, 262 East Tenth street, Oswego, riding with Kosbob, and her two-year-old son William sustained cuts and bruises and Miss Elizabeth Werth, 32 years old, of Bergholtz, riding with Strassburg, suffered lacerations of the eye, scalp and face.

    BERGHOLTZ, Sept. 27.-Mrs. Herman Strassburg, 46, a lifelong resident of this village, died last night at the family home in Cayuga street after an illness of several years. Funeral services will be held from the home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 from the Holy Ghost church. Interment will be in Holy Ghost cemetery. Mrs. Strassburg was formerly Eleanor Grassman. She was born in this village and her loss will be mourned by a wide circle of relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Herman, she is survived by one son, Herbert, of Bergholtz, and. two sisters, Mrs. George Eighorn (sic), of Buffalo, and Mrs. Henry Wittkopp, also of this village.
